This is a really terrific collection of papers by the man who led the renaissance in calligraphy in the modern era, Edward Johnston. Worth reading for the information on "penmanship" (Johnston's term for calligraphy with a broad edge pen), and for placing the history of calligraphy within the modern Arts and Crafts movement.
