5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best and most practical books on advanced word topics, October 10, 2010
Microsoft Word is a formidable feature rich application. It is difficult, if not practically impossible to find a single book that satisfy to whole range of users from beginners to power users. Berinstein's book is one of the best I have seen when it comes to advanced word topics, richness and practicality of tips.

I find "Formatting Legal Documents with Microsoft Word 2010" very useful for word 2007 users, and word 2007 users working their way towards upgrading to 2010, on those topics that are more relevant for producing advanced and complex documents. Particularly, it is especially useful to those that have to deal with designing and writing legal documents, although I find the book beneficial to any person that seeks to learn or improve mastering of word advance topics in general.

I found the book very articulate and clear in explaining difficult points and attribute this feature to the author's extensive personal practical experience on the subject matter as well as to her dedicated teaching experience on the same subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars The book has moved to a new page on Amazon, January 11, 2012
This review is from: Formatting Legal Documents With Microsoft Word 2010 (Paperback)
Obviously, this is NOT a review. (However, Amazon wouldn't allow me to post unless I rated the book. Do take my rating with a grain of salt.) It's a note to potential customers to let you know that the listing for the book has moved. A search on the book title or on my name should take you to the new page.

I had to republish the book because of a change in Amazon's distribution rules. I've made only a few substantive changes, all of them fairly minor. Indeed, the most notable difference is cosmetic: I jazzed up the cover a bit.

Unfortunately, Amazon has indicated that it can't port the existing reviews to the new page.

In any case, many thanks to all of you who have purchased -- or intend to purchase -- copies of the book. Thanks, as well, to the people -- all total strangers -- who wrote such glowing reviews. Your support means a great deal to me.

Best regards,

Jan Berinstein

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice resource for law offices that use Microsoft Word, December 21, 2011

This review is from: Formatting Legal Documents With Microsoft Word 2010 (Paperback)
I have been using WordPerfect since 1988. Since Microsoft Office has taken over, and almost all offices now are using Word, I decided I had to make the change. It is very difficult to switch from WordPerfect to Word. Everything is different.

I found this book in ordered it, and I find it to be very helpful. It is somewhat difficult to read because I do not think it is laid out very well, and it certainly is not going to win any design awards, but the information in it is well worth the purchase price, especially if you are new to Word. Since it targets the legal profession, if you are in a law office this is an essential resource.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is switching over from WordPerfect to Word. It will make the transition easier.
