Book Description

December 27, 2001 0884150119 978-0884150114
This handy book gives you all the formulas and calculations you are likely to need in drilling operations. It is the most complete manual of its kind. Included are formulas for pressure gradient, specific gravity, pump output, annular velocity, and buoyancy factor. In addition, there are calculations for volume and stroke, slug weight, drill string design, cementing, depth of washout, bulk density of cuttings, and stuck pipe. Separate chapters deal with calculations for drilling fluids, pressure control, and engineering. Example calculations are provided throughout.

Presented in easy-to-use, step-by-step order, Formulas and Calculations is a quick reference for day-to-day work out on the rig. It also serves as a handy study guide for drilling and well control certification courses.

Virtually all the mathematics required out on the drilling rig is included here in one convenient source.

Editorial Reviews

Review

The authors statement that, 'this handy book gives you all the formations and calculations you are likely to need drilling operations' is justified due to the completeness and easy use of the information....The entire format has clearly been made with the user in mind... 4.0 out of 5 stars Need formulas in the middle of the night, April 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Formulas and Calculations for Drilling, Production and Workover (Paperback)
Norton Lapeyrouse has done a good job accumulating those hard to formulas that you need in the middle of the night. We have all been on location and needed to calculate some aspect in drilling of a well and can't remember the exact formula. Well this book has just about everything you want. It ranks up there with Service Company's Tech Facts books and a more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book of Drilling Formulas That I Have Come Across So Far, October 10, 2007
Worth Buying, wouldn't mind to buy it even if it was more expensive than that price.

An excellent book for students who are taking Petroleum/Drilling/Well Engineering courses.
