Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Forrest's blades offer a superior cut that leaves a rip-cut saw edge that is as smooth as if it had been sanded, and a cross-cut edge that is almost mark-free. The blades run very quietly, and backside tearout in plywood is negligible. Each blade is virtually hand-made. The plate is hand-tensioned (up to 15 minutes per blade), superior C-4 carbide teeth are hand-brazed to the plate, and the blade is straightened and restraightened multiple times throughout the process. Think of a Forrest blade as a tool in your shop, not an accessory. Forrest stands behind it's blades by offering a sharpening service that bring blades back to the exact tolerances offered in a new blade. And this same exacting service is available for other manufacturer's blades as well, so they should come back better than new. Recommended for: thin, low pressure, two-sided laminates, plywood & fine cross cutting on all woods. Eliminates need for a small scoring saw blade on table saw work. The 40° points slice through thin bottom layers with no tears or chips. Reduced yearly sharpening costs - less machine downtime.

Product Description

With this all purpose blade for tables saws you can rip and crosscut 1" - 2" rockhards and softwoods resulting in a smooth-as-sanded surface. With 20 DEG face hook, ply-veneers will crosscut with no bottom splinter at moderate feed rates. Double hard and 40% stronger C-4 carbide will give up to 300% longer life between sharpenings. Ends blade changing (one blade does rip, combo and crosscut). Ends second-step finishing. Ends cutting 1/16" oversize to allow for resurfacing. Buy and sharpen one blade instead of 3, (24T rip, 50T combination, 80T crosscut).

This review is from: Forrest WW07Q307100 Woodworker II 7-1/4-Inch 30 Tooth 5/8-Inch Arbor 3/32-Inch Kerf Circular Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have been building kitchen cabinets and furniture as well as a fair amount of construction/remodeling for over 30 years. I've tried several manufacturers' blades and until now, was a loyal Freud user. Well, all you need to do is try one of these blades and you realize what you've been missing. The quality of the blade is top notch, but more importantly, the quality of the cuts are far and away the best of any I've used.

I've always used zero clearance inserts on my tablesaw and a zero clearance base on my 7-1/4" circular saw to get a tear-out free cuts. This blade produces so much less tear-out even without a zero clearance device that its amazing. I still use zero clearance devices when cutting plywood or laminates because I'm a perfectionist, but you get the point. I now have these blades on my 10" tablesaw, 7-1/4" circ and 12" mitersaw. I also have their blade stiffener on the tablesaw...you should get that too.

Forrest is now the only brand I'll buy.

Forrest is the best--You get what you pay for!

5.0 out of 5 stars Professional blade, January 7, 2009

This review is from: Forrest WW07Q307100 Woodworker II 7-1/4-Inch 30 Tooth 5/8-Inch Arbor 3/32-Inch Kerf Circular Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
Forrest makes fine blades and this one is no exception. I use it in my 24 year-old worm drive Skilsaw. The blade is a beast- heavy and wide, but boy does it cut. I use this blade for general purpose cutting- 4X4 Doug Fir, rip cuts on 2X6 lumber, cutting 1/4 to 1" plywood and it's just amazing. Every cut is sharp and the thing never seems to get dull. Yes, it's an expensive blade, but the cuts are clean, straight, and it makes more wood chips than dust. It won't bend, and the teeth retain their edge like no other. Also, it can be returned to Forrest and re-sharpened, which I like. If you want a professional blade that lasts and doesn't need changing often (as disposable blades do) then this one is for you. Yes, it's expensive, but it is also a professional tool and will provide value over its life where a disposable blade won't.
