5.0 out of 5 stars Super smooth cuts, even crosscuts.
After trying various other blades, I have found this to be the best all around table saw blade. At first I was skeptical of the high price, but after using it I am convinced that this is the only way to go. Tool tip - Make sure that your blade is sharp. It can be deceiving that although it still feels sharp to the touch, it is not cutting as well as it can. I have...

3.0 out of 5 stars Nowhere Near "Ridge Carbide" Quality
When I first bought my Ridgid Portable tablesaw, I knew that it would need a good blade to allow this saw to reach its full potential! I bought the WW2 40 tooth full kerf (1/8), WW2 40 tooth (3/32), and the WW2 30 tooth (3/32) ripping blades. They all work great. Bevels, mitres (with mitre gauge), and rips are done without taxing my 15 AMP motor too much. I did find...

5.0 out of 5 stars Smoothest Cutting Blade I've Ever Used!, May 3, 2000

I use this in my 5hp Jet Table Saw and it is absolutely super! I do have the Forrest 5" dampener that I use with it which limits the depth of cut to 2 1/2". Without the damper, it will cut almost 3" in my saw. The cuts are so clean that you can literally go to the 220 grit sandpaper as the first grade! I figure I'll save the difference in cost on sandpaper alone (maybe)!

Forrest offers resharpening service for these blades that restores them to factory specs. They do require a special grind that most "locals" can't do. Buy this blade and you won't be sorry - buy once, cut twice as long!

This is the cream of of the crop, top of the heap, A Number 1, superb blade. It cuts as well as everyone says. This blade is noticeably stiffer than the blade this replaced. UPDATE: I've now cut 1000+ linear feet of hardwoods with this blade. The cuts are awesome!! Not a single machine mark! Boards are ready for glue up. No need to make a stop at the jointer. I'd give this 6 stars if I could!

5.0 out of 5 stars The blade resurfaces so precisely, I sold my jointer, December 13, 2002

I bought my first Woodworker II at the AWFS show in 2001, and was so impressed with the quality of the cut that I snatched another up on eBay soon thereafter.

Before I bought a Forrest blade, I'd have to have to plane, joint, and then finish cut on my table saw to get precise 90 degree corners, and even then, the edges of my stock I couldn't use for a glue-joint.

Then I found the thin kerf Woodworker II. Wow, I've saved considerable time and sold my Delta jointer as a result of this sawblade. Even with over 1500 lineal feet of stock previously cut on the blade, I've been able to joint an edge straight from the tablesaw to the clamping rack. Impressive!

Make sure that you buy the Forrest blade stabilizer, and a zero clearance insert for your tablesaw, in order to get the most finished cuts. It'll reduce the depth of cut by about 1.5 inches, but you'll still be able to cut 8/4 stock with no problem.

Sharpening will [cost you]..., but you'll get a lot of use from it before you have to do that.

And, now I'm in the hunt for the Forrest 8 inch dado.

p.s. You can probably find it cheaper than here on Amazon[.com], look at eBay and at Forrest's website

Having just bought one of the Dewalt 746 saws I figured I needed a premium blade, but which one? It has been some years since I did much wood work and blades have changed alot. I wanted to remove the variables. The Forrest WW2 had the overall best ratings of quality of cut and the highest price too! I decided to spend the money and get this WW2 blade. I installed it, checked runout(under .001) and made a cut, then tried a cut in some burled oak...one hard piece of oak. The cut was so clean I recut it several times. And the blade never left a single tooth mark! Only a polished glossy clean cut. Then I tried several different woods....venered ply, soft wood, hard wood, rip and cross-cut. The blade is flawless!! I have never seen any blade perform so well in such a wide variety of cuts.

I also note that the carbide is different on this blade than competitors. Much thicker, allowing for many resharpenings. And more finely sharpened from the factory.....while the price is high the quality is impecable! If anyone has trouble with the WW2 baldes performance I'd look at other equipment problems first as the source.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Saw Blade ever made, December 13, 2002

This review is from: Forrest WW10407125 Woodworker II 10-Inch 40 Tooth ATB .125 Kerf Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor (Tools & Home Improvement)
I use this in my Delta Contractor saw for fine woodworking. I do not have the Forrest 5" dampeners because I can not believe I a can improve the quality of my cuts. I spent some time with setting up my saw to be sure that it was adjusted perfectly. There are adjusting screws available for this saw that make this very easy and perfect. The cuts are so clean that you can go to the 220 grit sandpaper when you begin sanding. I did not think my saw was capable of the quality of cuts that I now get. I do not see a need to plane an edge after this cut it I push it through correctly. I was considering getting a new saw to get the quality I wanted. I have put several hundred board feet of very hard wood such as hard maple through this blade both ripping and cutting. It is so much better than any blade I have ever seen in my 35 years of woodworking experience. I was surprised that I actually spent this much money on a blade, but I bought a second blade to use when I sent it off to be sharpened because I would not want to be without it for a day. I use my other blades for particleboard, used wood, rough construction and items that do not matter about the fine quality. I am now expecting to add the miter box blade and the dado-set too.

I would not trust a local to sharpen this blade. I have never found a local who sharpens my other blades to the same quality of the new blade. Forrest offers re-sharpening service for these blades that restores them to factory specs. Turn-around is fast, send in the original container.

I now save sanding time on everything I do. I saved myself from buying a new saw. I save the edge jointing time. This blade more than pays for it's self in time and money. Buy this blade and you won't be sorry, You will not buy other brands of blades again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Blade on the Block, January 9, 2001

I picked up this blade a few months ago the first thing you notice is how super sharp it is in the box. The Forrest blade is the smoothest cutting blade I have (and I have several). I've cut several hundred board feet of red oak and lots of plywood and thei baby keeps on truckin!

Tip - keep this blade free of pitch, it will cause burning and I found if I clean it with simple green it restores the burn free cutting just fine.

This blade gives you glue line ready super fine edges! I'd buy it again. JP

Who would have thought that a saw blade could make such a huge difference?

Although others had recommended the Forrest blade, I'm pretty cheap and had trouble justifying the cost. No retailers near me offer the Forrest blades so I had never seen one in action. I finally caved in and bought one for my new cabinet saw after using another blade with disappointing results.

I couldn't believe the difference. It cuts quietly and smoothly through even 8/4 hardwood. It doesn't burn. It leaves a beautiful finish that's ready for gluing.

It's worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quiet & smooth, September 4, 2001

This review is from: Forrest WW10407125 Woodworker II 10-Inch 40 Tooth ATB .125 Kerf Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor (Tools & Home Improvement)
As I expounded on with my review of the Delta 36-960L table saw, this blade is by far the quietest and smoothest I have used. This blade is VERY quiet - there is NO ringing when performing a cut, unlike my other blades. I think it is hard to appreciate the difference unless you have experienced it yourself.

To test the accuracy of this blade and my saw, I ripped several 0.030" strips (measured with a mic) off a pine 2x6. They came off smoothly, without any tearing or roughness. They were so thin, when I wet them, I could roll them up into a small tube.

One warning, I foolishly laid this blade gently on my cast iron table top. I could hear a faint crackle as some of the very sharp tips broke off :( If I look carefully at the cut, I can see that one side of the blade produces a polished look (around 220 sandpaper), while the other is around 120 grit sandpaper smooth.

p.s. I use this blade with the Forrest dampener (which for some reason, they call a damper).

I have had this blade now for a couple of months. This simply is the best blade that I have ever used! I cut lots of white oak and have glued up rip cuts without even going to the jointer. I recently riped a edge veneer in white oak to less then 1/16" and this stuff looks like it came from a veneer factory! I can take a 8/4 piece of oak and cut strips almost as thin as paper with NO saw marks! Did I mention melamine, cuts without chipping! I will be buying another one so I can have one runing while I send the old one back for sharpening.
