5.0 out of 5 stars Forrest Blades Perform As Advertised, August 8, 2001

The cross-cut blade will cut veneer plywood without splintering. I use it for just that purpose. And, I have a total of 5 Forrest sawblades. I use them because they cut without the need for joining edges and I can send them back to Forrest Mfg. to have them professionally sharpened.

this is the best blade I've ever used. It just ran through about 80 sheets of maple ply and is still cutting smooth with no bottom splintering. I was planning to buy a new table saw with a scoring blade but I don't think I need to now. Works even better on MDF. I bought the 5" stiffener with it.

I have had this blade for a year and a half..I can say that it is the best of the best. I now will have to have it resharpened, my fault,I did not scan first, cutting some "old salvaged" 2 x 4 and just happened to get into some dry wall screws. Believe it ! it still give an ok cut but I want it better..I would buy another in a second if needed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not always great., June 27, 2008

I have been a huge fan of Forrest blades, using them almost exclusively, but when I bought a second Woodworker I so I would have something to use while the other one is being sharpenned, I was greatly disappointed with what I received. The center bore was tighter than normal and all the cuts burned. I may be willing to pay twice the price for the quality, but the company better work twice as hard on quality control.

Amazon sent me a replacement, which I haven't tried yet, but I hope this isn't a sign that Forrest has gotten too big for itself. I'll jump ship if this happens again.

I bought this one after I saw a fellow at a local lumber yard with one. He was sold on it. The Amazon price is the best I found, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best blade hands down..., March 21, 2009

forrest makes a great saw blade, and they stand behind it 100%... they also resharpen the blades when they inevitably get dull, and they come back as good as new, you cannot find a better product, anywhere... buy both the ripping and crosscut, and use them appropriately, and you will be glad you did....

4.0 out of 5 stars Smoooth cut, March 6, 2002

This review is from: Forrest WW10607100 Woodworker I 10-Inch 60 Tooth ATB Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor (Tools & Home Improvement)
Wanting a blade that cut smoother than my existing 28 tooth carbide I couldn't decide between this or the 40 tooth Woodworker II. Think I'll get the Woodworker II now just to cut a bit faster. The cut from this is almost ridiculously smooth, so I think I can back off a bit. It does splinter some on bottom-side ply/veneers.
Was a bit disappointed with the appearance, was expecting something that shined like the holy grail from the price. Out of the box it almost looked used with a bit of rust. Cleaned up and installed it works great. Ordered the 12" Chopmaster for my miter saw, should be great for it. Still think I'll try the II for my table saw.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect cuts on my radial arm saw (DeWalt 7779), March 10, 2010

This review is from: Forrest WW10607100 Woodworker I 10-Inch 60 Tooth ATB Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor (Tools & Home Improvement)
Very nice blade for the radial arm. Initial jump in is lower and more easily controlled than the prior blade (basic Ryobi blade) and so far the crosscuts in solid red oak board and birch ply have been very smooth and splinter-free. Ripping in red oak was also smooth although I got just a touch of burning...probably due to me feeding to conservatively. The blade runs smooth and quiet for the most part; occasionally I get some high pitch shriek but I haven't pinned down whether it is material or thickness...whatever the case it is a lot better than my prior blades so I call it tolerable. I may try a blade stiffener in the future if it doesn't give up too much depth of cut.

As it says in the header I am using this blade on an old but well maintained DeWalt 7779 radial arm saw.
