5.0 out of 5 stars A new name, same great sound May 29, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
Been a fan of Jon Black for a while. From my initial listen of "Gravity," I was captivated. Good, solid folk music. Now under his new name, Fort Atlantic continues that trajectory. From start to finish, a fantastic listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic album May 28, 2012
Format:MP3 Music
I originally found Jon Black through the old Joystiq podcast, where one of his songs was featured as the show's theme. I quickly snapped up everything I could find by him.

His new album (under his new band name), Fort Atlantic, is a fantastic mix of new ideas and some now unavailable songs from his previous work (which have all been re-recorded with the new band). Part folk, part experimental/alt rock, Fort Atlantic is an album I highly recommend it to everyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good music. June 30, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
This is a great album. It's easy to listen to, and it offers both a quality musical experience with lyrics that are rich and thought provoking. If you like good music, especially good music that is accompanied by good poetry, I'd say give this album a try!

5.0 out of 5 stars From the Soul June 3, 2012
Format:MP3 Music
There are many groups who sing from the "heart", few have works which churn the soul. Fort Atlantic is in ratified air. Jon Black's work, taken together, comes from the primordial yearnings. Great songs, great band!

4.0 out of 5 stars good stuff May 28, 2012

No its not hard rock, but the lyrics and harmonies are very good. reminds me of old Bruce Springsteen, Kings of Leon, with touch of Jackson Browne.

Kind of tunes yuo will enjoy driving down the highway when it is just you and the open road. very nicely produced and recorded.
