This review is from: Fort Clark and Brackettville: Land of Heroes (TX) (Images of America) (Paperback)
This is a good book for anyone who would like to know how and when the U.S. Horse Cavalry ended. My late father,BILL WESTEN M.D. was one of the last medical doctors to serve in the Second Cavalry Division. The division commander, General Harry Johnson, was President Lyndon Johnson's first cousin. The baseball Hall of FAMER Jackie Robinson, was a second lieutenant in the 28th Cavalry. THERE IS A LOT OF UNKNOWN HISTORY here. Definately a good read.
