This is an excellent book for one who seeks to know the Fort Pierce of the past. As this Fort Pierce is now only one of memory and is buried under progress, it is a great source for memories, for reminiscence, and for historical research.
Ada Coates Williams is not just a descendant of one of the pioneer families of Fort Pierce, but she is a noted Florida historian in her own right. The buyer can feel thankful that she took the time to compile the photographs and commentaries to share with those of us who remember an older and different Florida and Fort Pierce. I had the pleasure of having her as my 8th grade Florida history teacher and am aware of her deep love for her subject! |
