This is an incredible album. Period. Rarely have I been so gobsmacked by a new band. Beautiful melodies, lyrics that must be absorbed and contemplated, all in a package that seems at once effortless and painstakingly assembled. Sara Lucas posesses a voice languid and pungent. Ryan Seaton's guitar work could grace a chamber orchestra, organic, intimate and stark. This is the soundtrack to a late fall morning in Leadville; a breeze that hints at the cold behind it, with a warm woodstove just through that door.
