Why two stars then?
There is no way to turn these cute little guys off! Once you pull out the little tag, these are on until the battery dies. Sure, you can pry them open, slide out a battery, store it in the top part, and then do the reverse when you want to turn them back on...but if you had these scattered in a garden, or in your pool for a party...well, that's not the most convenient solution. Couldn't they have designed these so the top and bottom could twist into on/off configurations?
Luckily the batteries aren't that expensive. But until there is a way to turn these off, the two stars remain.
Update: These were great for our wedding! We used them in our centerpieces and everyone just loved them. The glow they give off was perfect. Way better than candles.
We turned them on in the afternoon and they lasted the entire ceremony and reception. Actually they lasted all that night and some didn't die out for a week. I read some reviews that said they wouldn't last, but that reviewer must have gotten a bum lot. We bought three boxes and not a one of them died out early. I really wish there was a way to turn them off so it would be easier to use them again.
Otherwise you are left with a a small ball that burns for 20 hours straight.
And yes, I said batteries. So while they may use replaceable batteries, each berry uses 2! I am not sure of the cost, but I bet it is really really high.

They look really nice, they are small. They are a little bit of a pain to open and remove the film that keeps the battery from dying. Read morePublished 7 months ago by Randolph C Cupp
