Generally, this book is for New Age-y, very socially and theologically liberal, touchy-feely people. If your instincts are more traditional (Jewish, Christian or otherwise), there's not much for you. Having said that I did find one or two good ideas (most notably the idea of "Holy Envy"- paying more attention to worthwhile traits in others).
