Makes you want to go out and buy a Volvo!,

This review is from: Forty Years of Selling Volvo (Paperback)
Interesting book. It has ads from the early 544 Volvos right up to the 850's. It's interesting to see how much ahead of the times they were with safety innovations. When you read page after page of how Volvo engineers designed and built the car with the occupants' safety in mind, you become impressed. When you read about some of the incredible collisions that the owners were able to walk away from, it makes you wonder why you'd want to drive anything else. A very enjoyable book for the "Volvophile".

Every ad for every model with fascinating behind the scenes stories of the most addictive automobile every made.
I, as the proud owner of a 1982 Volvo 240 station wagon (the brick)and one of its successors, a 1991 740 sedan; was delighted to have such a wonderful collection of photographs of my favorite car along with so much enjoyable trivia. I have owned some really neat cars (BMW 2002, Audi Fox GTI, Audi 4000 5+5, the original Audi 5000, VW 411, VW Dasher Diesel Station Wagon, and the like. But I found my true calling and automotive religion when I got a ride along the Strand in Oceanside, Ca.in a 72 Volvo 242 back in 1981. This is for rea-wheel and front-wheel drive Volvisti alike! |
