5.0 out of 5 stars All the regular greatness of Forza 2, plus new cars
The platinum edition of Forza 2 offers the standard game along with a new disc that contains all the updates that were available online (including 43 new cars and two new race tracks). For those who already own the game, 20 dollars for the updates may or may not be worth it. However, I found it to be a good deal because I don't play online but wanted to take advantage of...

2.0 out of 5 stars Only for boring racing fans!!!
When i read the reviews for this game i was excited because it was so cheap and everyone seemed to love it. However, if you like Burnout and Need For Speed (both of which i am a huge fan) you will HATE this game. The cars are impossible to drive, the constantly go out of control, the tracks are BORING and the soundtrack blows.
Only buy this game if your deep into...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best race sim ever, November 19, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Forza 2 (Platinum Hits) (Video Game)
This is the best race sim I've ever played. It is really addictive and fun for a long time due to the career mode and online gaming. The graphics could be a little better and include "in car" view. Very good game, mainly if you consider a $19.99 deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forza 2 Platinum Hits - Get alot more then you pay for!, December 20, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Forza 2 (Platinum Hits) (Video Game)
I recently purchased Forza 2 platinum to replace my old Forza 2 disc that finally called it quits a after a year and a half of very good gaming. Forza 2 is the best racing game ver made, and no game will ever surpass is except Forza 3. Platinum hits is worth much more then what you pay, to get a regular Forza 2 disc new is about $12 and if you thwn downloaded all the DLC using microsoft points you would have spent another $30. So for only $20 your getting the game, all the DLC and the preorder car. Even the manual alone I'd say is worth the twenty bucks, its like a miniature stategy guide and explains much clearer and much more then the standard manual. I have to give Forza 2 platinum 5/5, most game review sites say 4/5 for the regular, so adding great value to an already amazing product has to warrant top marks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Realistic Driving Game at a Great Price, March 19, 2009

I was a late comer to the XBOX360, buying in Feb 09, and it's also the first console I've owned. I've played many driving games on my PC's over the years, but this is the best by far. Be aware, it's not really an arcade game, but more of a driving simulator. You can't keep the accelerator mashed the whole time and hope for the best, or bounce off walls to make the turns. You have to drive like you would in your own car - well twice as fast, but you get the point - breaking and sensible accelating definitely count. The graphics are great in 720P. Some have found slight fault with the crispness of the graphics compared to other games - unless you're pausing and comparing it side by side with another, newer game, I doubt you'll notice, especially at 200 mph. I've got my XBOX360 on a 52" rear-projection HDTV - not the latest model, but it looks great for games. There are lots of cars, and with the platinum edition, lots of extra tracks. If you don't have this one already and you like driving games, you really can't get a better deal than this. [...]

Just to let you know, Forza 2 requires a hard drive if you want to watch replays. So if you have an Arcade edition Xbox 360, you're gonna have to add a hard drive to your Xbox. So far this has been my only real complaint with this game. For me, the car dynamics are improved over the original game, being closer to Gran Turismo, which is a good thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Addictive and Fun, May 24, 2009

As a casual racing fan this game is awesome because you can just kick back, let your brain relax and just cruise around following the green lines and braking when they turn red. It sounds stupid but a game where you can just shut your mind off and drive is extremely useful for blowing off some steam.

The game becomes much harder when you start turning the "assists" off (like the racing line, assisted steering, and having damage affect performance). The game doesn't really try to match the opponents to you, so you can easily cheat and get cars powerful enough to lap the competition. It's kind of up to you? People I know do the same thing in Gran Turismo, so I think this game is offering the right set of options.

The cars and graphics are awesome and fluid. I kind of wish there was music while you are driving but I just listen to my MP3 player instead.

This is a HIGHLY accurate driving simulator. Not a game. Simulator. This means that it's far too difficult for alot of people to play and enjoy, but if you're a driving enthusiast, you'll love it.
It could use a few more cars from the manufacturers that are included, but the list isn't shabby by any means. I would like to see more than one car from the manufacturers that only have one car included. For example, Saab only has the O.G. 9-3 (1997-2002)...Ideally, they would have the new generation 9-3, the 9-5, and maybe even a classic 900 too. Chrysler has the PT cruiser and Crossfire SRT-6 included in the game, how about the 300C SRT-8? Overall, this is an EXCELLENT simulator with an EXCELLENT selection of real-world tracks and cars, in addition to some great original tracks that they created for the game. Note that this is best enjoyed with the driving wheel and pedals. Happy driving.

I've been trying to find this game for a while since I finally got myself an XBox360. This one includes a 2nd disc with the premium content which was cool. I've been playing this game for a while now and still yet to get tired of it. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining, January 6, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Forza 2 (Platinum Hits) (Video Game)
Forza 2 is a very entertaining driving game, as well as a solid racing simulation. I also highly recommend a driving wheel for this game. I use the 360's wireless racing wheel and the steering is very precise, solid, and since the wheel is force feedback; heavy. If you drive off the edge of the track, the softer ground will tug hard at the wheel, too. In addition to the stellar mechanical performance of the simulation, the audio is amazing, and each car has it's own distinct noises.

The only negative things I can say are the graphics are somewhat dated compared to recent racing titles, and the lack of a "cockpit" view limits the simulation aspect.

All in all, this is a very good game that would recommend to any driving enthusiast.
