3.0 out of 5 stars Good but was expecting better. October 2, 2014

This is for the 360 version, just so we're clear. While the game is still fun to play and much larger than Forza Horizon, it isn't nearly as good as it could have been. The graphics are only as good as FH1. There's no improvement there. The rest of the game, in general, seems rushed with not much effort put into it. I've noticed a lot of little quirky bugs. Trees that slightly float above ground. "Parked" cars that have a single wheel spinning slowly. I was driving through a place I had never been yet and came across some parked cars and one of them was inexplicably on it's side. Not sure if this was intentional or just another bug. If you have no plans to buy an Xbox One and want to play this, go ahead and get it. It's still fun to play and there is lots and lots of things to do. If you at some point are upgrading to an Xbox One, don't waste your money on this. Get the One version when you get your new machine. They didn't seem to put much effort into the 360 version.

1.0 out of 5 stars Severely dumbed down port of and Xbox One game. October 27, 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox 360| Edition:Standard|Verified Purchase
Game is very buggy, plus they mislead consumers about DLC and features in the 360 version. There will be no DLC, no rewards for leveling up, no true online free roam. If you want the real game you have to have the Xbox One. This is a dumbed down cash grab which pains me to say. The first Horizon was one of my favorite games of all time. I own ever other Forza game made, but after this I may be done with the series. Such a disappointment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best racing game I've EVER played! September 30, 2014
By Megan
Platform for Display:Xbox 360| Edition:Standard|Verified Purchase
Let's start off with this: I got the first Forza Horizon game as a Christmas gift the year it came out. I didn't understand it, and actually didn't even want it. My older brother had let me play it for a little bit to see if I would like it, and I didn't. It was difficult to control, extremely sensitive, and I had no idea of what I was doing (little did I know that that was just my brother's settings for his gameplay). I crashed countless times. Safe to say I wasn't exactly ecstatic to see that's what he had given me as a gift. Eventually over the following year, I got better and better at the game (at my own settings of medium opponent difficulty with all the other assists off). It wasn't until about 5 months before Forza Horizon 2 came out that I noticed the free content for the first Horizon. I was shocked. After I had fun with the free stuff, I patiently waited and waited for Forza Horizon 2. Then, the day finally came.
Just with the beginning video, I could already tell it was different from the first Horizon game, but so much better. Like the last game, you start off driving the 'mascot' car. As I was driving the 2014 Lamborghini Huracán, I was also looking at the beautiful graphics of the game. From the docks to the Horizon Festival, its just jaw-dropping beauty. Once you get to the festival, they do the next video and then they give you a choice for your starting car! I couldn't decide which one to pick, so I went with the most expensive so that I can buy the other two sooner rather than later. The choice was between the Chevy Camaro, the 1998 Toyota Supra, and the 2011 BMW Z4.
Showcases and barn finds are still in the game, but now with the showcases, you can go up against a train!

2.0 out of 5 stars Get the Xbox One version October 3, 2014
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Standard
I was waiting to get an Xbox One until November when The Crew comes out, this game made me get one today. I've been gaming since 1986 and I usually can not be bothered to write reviews, but I had to say something about this Xbox 360 version of FH2. See I was thinking how different could it be from the XOne version, and I should've listened to the Developer Turn 10 when they said they're two different games, boy are they right. If I were them I would beg to have the game renamed to something like Forza Arcade because it is garbage on the 360.

Technically - It sucks. It doesn't look good, it's plagued with invisible walls that just pop up for seemingly no good reason like in the middle of a highway, suffers from clipping where you just fall through the Earth, and the physics are so terrible that I nearly chucked my controller in frustration which I haven't done in a DECADE. AWD cars might as well have been driving on ice. And somehow the races STILL managed to be easy even with the assists off!

Content - Also garbage. I literally maxed out and found everything in a couple of hours. I thought it was weird that some parts seemed like you should be able to enter and after playing the XONE version I realized they closed off large areas of the game! There's also not nearly as many cars as you would think and the radio stations have like three songs a piece. There's far fewer classes and races than the XOne as well. As in only half the races, and really they're the same races that you just play with ten different types of cars.

This version feels like they polished up the Alpha just a wee bit for release and otherwise released a garbage product. It really is a different game from the XOne version which is fantastic. Upgrade to the XOne or skip this until you can buy it used. Not worth the 50 bucks.

1.0 out of 5 stars Forza Horizon 2 October 23, 2014

or,

How to run a franchise into the ground because why not

(This is regarding the Xbox 360 version only – Xbox One experiences may, I desperately hope, be better.)
Horizon 2 was released at or very near the same day as the Xbox One. I have to assume that this is the biggest contributing factor to Horizon 2’s sad final state. The game itself starts out much as Horizon did. You hop in a car and drive to the first media hub in order to get acquainted with the driving dynamics of the roads, and then pick out a free car from three available and go off to race and build up skill points. Great, right?

Horizon 2’s map layout is far more open than Horizon, but it seems there was hardly any care to keep it as detailed as Horizon. When one creates a mountainside, it seems absurdly silly to believe that one can get away with repeating a texture across its face that is so painfully obvious that is fully able to tear the driver's eyes away from the road to gawk at in wonder. Immediately before the driver is snapped back as the car starts bouncing off the road into the fields, anyway. I saw that and knew I was not going to like this. It wasn’t just a foreboding fear. I was all but certain of it. After all, if something that massive and obnoxious was able to get through the QA and play testing cycles without being corrected, what ELSE did they throw up their hands at & exclaim, “That’s good enough for government work!”?

My fear was justified as I drove through one city and attempted to dive between a couple buildings, just for acrobatics’ sake. Instead of screeching tires, I heard a sudden crash as the car came to a full stop. The ground appeared fine and there was no curb to stop me that I could see. Then I noticed, floating to the side, a sconce.
