The Foscam FI8905 is a wireless or wired IP camera solution for outdoor use. It combines a high quality digital video camera with network connectivity and a powerful web server to bring clear video to your desktop or smartphone from anywhere on your local network or over the Internet. The high quality video image is transmitted with 30fps speed on the LAN/WAN by using MJPEG hardware compression technology. The image resultion is 640 x 480 (300k Pixels). The Foscam FI8905 camera is based on the TCP/IP standard. The control, management and maintenance of the camera is done simply by using your browser to remotely configure and upgrade the firmware. The Foscam FI8905W IP camera can reach up to 30 meters of visibility in absolute darkness with 60 infrared LED's.

I purchased a two pack Foscam FI8905W, considering my previous experience of owning several of Foscam cameras, They arrived on time and very well packed, the cams are bigger than I expected, but... The focus on both cameras was way off, you could see the image but was blury. I decided it was to much of a trouble to send them back, so I open them by following a video on You tube step by step, It was simple to fix the out of focus problem, This cameras have an excellent video image and fast update.The problem went away, but I caused another problem, The IR light its no seen by the camera even when it is "ON" as seen by the other camera. I must have loss something during the dis-assemble (IR Cut Filter)of the camera. I was un-able to get any help from Foscam to fix it.
My advise is, If you buy these cameras and are out of focus, don't try fixing yourself, send them back to be fix, because They are an excellent purchase, I am buying two more I hope Foscam eventually answer my questions.

I ordered two of these improved models from Foscam. They now have an IR cut which makes green scenery green again. Without IR cut foliage is nearly white. The description also said "other improvements" without specifying.
I received the units last evening and fired them up today. I have quite a few earlier models to compare with. The IR cut works nicely. It also seemed that brightness and contrast was better controlled. I was happy with them for a few hours. The first one fired up nicely and I placed it on test in the back yard while I fired up the second. But alas, the second had a wireless range of not more than ten feet. It coupled to my wi-fi router when three feet away but when placed anywhere beyond a few feet, it disappeared.
Because it comes in a two-pack (a terrible idea), I have to return both for refund, good and bad. The returns manager at wherever is going to love this two-pack tango. I reordered another pair and hope they both work properly. I think Foscam has a cracker-jack product here but seems sloppy sometimes, especially in the lens department (wrong focal points and wrong focus setting). Also, changes of model are opaque to us. Hard to tell what point in development it's at.
That reminds me, both cameras were focused satisfactorily. A bit fuzzy but OK.
These cameras have had a rocky road in my experience, but I keep up hope. You can't beat the price and with persistance you can get great video.
