The cord is really long and charges the phone just like all other cords.
JaredL
After it was charged I went to unplug it and the plastic cover for the cable came right off leaving exposed wires and the metal connector still connected to the phone.

First one stopped working after a month...second one stopped working after a week.

For 1/10 the price of the Apple product, you get what appears to me, to be exactly the same item as sold by Apple. And I'm picky when it comes to these things. The only difference is that the length of this cord is double!

This cord is made with the same connectors and quality as Apple's. It even appears to be manufactured the same way in all respects.

I researched a lot of cords, and this was the only one that had the above attributes.

We have never bought non-apple cords before, so I can say with certainty that there are at least a couple different styles out there. The way I tell them apart is by the reinforcement coming out of the connectors. One is flat & smooth. The other is ridged. The style we received is the flat type. We have had no problems with either design.

I ordered two of these cables and both have stopped working and they both have pulled apart from the USB that plugs into the adapter/USB port. I will never purchase these again

The only good thing about it is that the cord is a good length. Otherwise it does not work properly - after keeping it plugged into the ipod for over an hour, although it looks like its charging while it plugs in, as soon as you plug it out of the ipod, the charge icon goes back to zero (we use other shorter cords, and don't have that issue, so its not the ipod). It is also very flimsy - the end of the cord is already starting to break off. V-e-r-y disappointed - after waiting for almost two month for it to arrive, this is what we get.

I read a lot of negative comments about the longer cables compared to the standard apple length, I haven't had any of the issues people have listed. I've used mine with my laptop on it's usb2 / e-sata always on port to charge my iPhone4 and to sync it, as well as to install a firmware update on it, and everything worked flawlessly. I've also used it with my desktop pc to sync music onto my iPod classic 160gb, connected to a USB 2.0 hub plugged into one of the ports on the front of my case (my only complaint about my Antec Nine-Hundred case being that it only has 2 USB ports on the front of it) and I haven't had any connection issues, errors or loss of speed. I actually took the time to compare adding 1gb of music to my iPod with a stock 3 foot apple cable and then deleted the music and added the same data back onto it with the 6 foot cable...the time was just about the same, I think it was 17 seconds faster with the longer cord, but I'm sure it was due to system memory use being different or core use on my intel quad being lower. I also saw complaints about the cable being flimsy and breaking easily, but I can't see any difference compared to the apple brand cord that came with my iPhone. Overall, I find this cable to be an excellent product at a fantastic price.

This cable went bad on me in under 2 weeks. Doesn't help to have a longer cable if it doesn't work!

Very disappointed, flimsy and cheap. Got one use before it broke. Pulled apart with the base stuck in my phone. Do Not waste your time or money on this.

After just three days of gentle usage it stopped working altogether. The rubber near the ends had also split. Another classic example of "You get what you pay for."

I got this so that I could comfortably use my iPhone and iPhone while plugged into the wall. When I plug it in to my iPhone, it says "charging not supported with this accessory". My iPad doesn't charge with it either.
