Product Description

The CH2473 Analog Chronograph Watch from Fossil is the perfect way to stay punctual. From timeless classics to the latest fashions, Fossil is sure to have the timepiece that perfectly compliments your unique sense of style. Founded in 1984 when timepieces were created more for function than fashion, Fossil began to transform this notion with its unique combination of vintage 1950s Americana design and affordably accessible cool style. Adding to their collectability were the one-of-a-kind, trademark tins that came with the watches that mixed a creative spirit with a sense of humor. These iconic boxes are nearly as popular as the watches they hold and are regularly collected and traded throughout the world at flea markets, antique shops, and on eBay.

Today, Fossil produces over 300 different styles of watches in a continuously changing lineup. While the majority of designs are created by in-house designers, Fossil has reached out to such contemporary artisans as product designer Philip Starck and famed architect Frank Gehry (designer of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain) to create uniquely modern timepieces. In addition to style innovations, Fossil has also helped introduce innovative technologies into watches, such as the Wrist PDA that ran the Palm operating system. Fossil also offers complementary lines of small leather goods, belts, handbags, sunglasses, jewelry and apparel.

Since its establishment in 1984, Fossil has created watches for men and women that withstand the test of time. Fossil watches range from rugged, to professional, to every-day, but always place a premium on craftsmanship and fine materials. Fossil’s talented designers emphasize creativity and closely monitor horological trends in order to deliver the watches Fossil's customers demand. From complicated chronographs, to casual watches with fabric straps, to technologically advanced digital displays, Fossil watches all represent a commitment to functional style.

For the last ten months I have had this jet black machine ticking away on my wrist. Within this time I have gotten accustomed to the "raised" markings on the interior of the dial, the chrome "U" shaped hour markings accent the black profile and the chronograph numbering stays concise and crisp. The chronograph is accented with chrome rings as well as the "Record-like" etchings onto the chronograph dial surface. Through the falls, skateboard crashes, nut shots, and other blows the watch has taken, as well as constant water submerging I have never had a problem with the watch. Ultimately the CH-2473 is a great choice for the price, the weight is ideal and the push button clasp makes taking the watch off and putting it on a cinch. I am thoroughly pleased with this watch. The only complaints that I have are the lack of a rotating bezel and a face that is difficult to see in low light. The watch could use some better lit numerals or hands. So far there have been no real problems. After all, if there is a problem with the watch I will be covered for the next eleven years!
I am "MCON". I am fifteen, and i recommend the FOSSIL CH-2473

This is the most durable watch I've owned.

I've had watches from other brands that cost the same price and only lasted for a year or less. This watch still looks great and I've owned it for several years without ever replacing the battery. The finish has come off in some heavy wear areas (like around the clasp because of contact with tables and such) but for the most part the finish is still shiny and in tact and this is after at least 3 years of heavy wear and tear. I wear this watch every day and it has been banged around a lot.

The only negative about this watch is there is no illumination on the face so you can't see it in the dark. Also I wish the long thin hand ticked around for the seconds, but there is a smaller dial which is dedicated for this purpose. The longer and thinner hand is for the stop watch.

It's a beautiful piece of fossil, still isn't so good at dark environments. Fit's great on the wrist and it's dial isn't so big. Well designed and with a great finish. Worth the price, even more with 11-yr of warranty.

So, several reviews deducted stars for the watch not having illumination. The hands on the watch have glow-in-the-dark inlays in them, so this does indeed have illumination. This watch does have a fantastic appearance and is not excessively large on ones wrist. There is an 11-year warranty on the inner workings of the watch. I would gladly give this more than 5 stars if it was possible.

Just a side note, if you need links taken out, take it to a jeweler that sells fossil watches, because the links have an inner sleeve that some jewelers do not have the tool to remove.

This watch is very attractive and stylish. The only pitfall is that its dial is not illuminous making it nearly impossible to see in the dark. If Fossil made the hours and the hands of the watch illuminous it would receive a 5 out of 5 stars.
