Product Description

This classic chess set design has long been a standard for marble, onyx, and stone chess sets and continues to be popular today. The chess pieces have an attractive rustic Staunton look with slightly exaggerated features that facilitate carving solid stone. The Fossil Marble is primarily gold color with original oceanic fossils like clams etc. The white marble is predominately solid white but will sometimes have small veins of other colors intermingled. This is a beautifully crafted chess set at a great price! The red onyx and fossil marble contrast nicely! Nicely carved pieces. Very pleased. The only thing I did was add felt circles from a craft store to the bottoms of the pieces so they wouldn't scratch the board. The board itself is a work of art.

This is so frustrating! I purchased this beautiful chess set for a Christmas present. It arrived promptly but one of the pieces was broken. I immediately sent an email to Marbles N Whatever company. They sent me back an email the very same day. But thats been almost 2 weeks. No sign of my replacement piece. I've emailed twice and called the 888 number. No response. Its 4 days until Christmas and the mail has already come. I guess I'll be giving my son-in-law a half-a** present.

Good luck trying to get this company to honor its return policy.

The set is beautiful as is the blue velvet case. I just wish it were a little bit larger, otherwise its perfect!
