"A Great Primer on Fossils & Evolution", March 10, 2009
"Fossils, Paleontology and Evolution", by David L. Clark, William C. Brown, IA 1968, ISBN: 0-697-05000-9, PB 130/120 pgs., Biblio. 2 pgs., Index 8 pgs. Inveiglements include some charts, tables and many detailed sketches of fossil flora & fauna. 9" x 6".
This book is a wonderfully concise but absorbing read of this exciting field of scientific inquiry authored by a Professor of Geology who demonstrates fluid teaching skills.
In nine chapters Clark deftly covers the A to Z of paleontology, fossils, evolution and rummages into the necessary jargon of classification & nomenclature, explores evolution of plants and animals (invertebrates & vertebrates), and concludes with thoughts on "Life Extraterrestrial". The drawings with text reference are invaluable.
