Industry standard, one of the most reliable speaker/monitors.,
This review is from: Fostex 6301 BEAV - Powered Personal Monitor (priced each) (Electronics)
These Fostex monitors are worth their weight in gold. Even under heavy use, they last a very long time and offer up a great middle ground of sound. I use the version with an XLR3 input, which makes it our go-to monitor--the sound is clean and clear all the way up.

Pro Quality,

I see this speaker all the time backstage on corporate events. They are almost ubiquitous in the staging world -- tough, ultimately repairable, plenty of volume for things like powerpoint monitors, etc. just about as bullet-proof as they come. I just wish they fit in my budget for my room!

A terrific small amplifier,

I've had an original Fostex 6301 for almost two decades. I recently got rid of my car and carry my music gear in a backpack, so this sturdy, compact amp has become indispensable. I hook it up to a Yamaha VL70m tone module that I play with a Yamaha WX5 MIDI wind instrument. The whole setup -- including the amp/speaker -- weighs just over 10 pounds and easily fits into a small back pack. Of course, the 6301 sounds great too. Highly recommended!
