Book Description

Fostoria Tableware August 1999
Continuing the 'Crystal for America' series, this volume covers pressed patterns, cuttings, etchings, and decorations, and includes the popular Coin, Colony, and Century patterns, the Henry Ford Museum Collection, and a host of other patterns, collections, and giftware produced by the Fostoria Glass Company in its last 42 years. Milkglass and Ebony glass have their own complete sections, as do the pieces introduced in the American and Navarre patterns during these years. Original company materials and 80 color photographs are featured throughout the book. 1999 values. AUTHORBIO: A retired teacher, Milbra Long has been a researcher for years, offering articles to many publications. She volunteered for the research committee of the Fostoria Glass Society of America, and served on the board of directors. She and daughter, Emily Seate, are co-authors of the book series: Fostoria: The Crystal For America, as well as the Fostoria Value Guide. AUTHORBIO: Emily Seate has been a writer of fiction and poetry for most of her life. She is a philosopher, preferring long hours spent in thought to just about anything, except shopping for Fostoria glassware. She and her mother, Milbra Long, are co-authors of the book series: Fostoria: The Crystal For America, as well as the Fostoria Value Guide. REVIEW: This book shows the diversities in products and presentation of pieces by the Fostoria Company, until it closed the factory in Moundsville in 1986. The authors have presented this complex period as simply as possible, providing original company catalog pages and detailed photographs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, the information I need on Heirloom!, June 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Fostoria Tableware: 1944-1986 (Hardcover)
The section on Heirloom alone is worth the price of the book. Every piece is listed in every color, with prices, and dates! The photographs are in vivid color, with every piece identified. These gals have got it together. Milk Glass is a revelation as well. Lots of goodies in this book. Lots of color and more information than I've ever seen about this period. A must for Fostoria collectors!

5.0 out of 5 stars Heirloom pattern information excellent, September 29, 2005
This review is from: Fostoria Tableware: 1944-1986 (Hardcover)
I found this book quickly became my favorite, looking through and finding an extensive section on the heirloom pattern. It is hard to find info on this pattern this complete with lovely pictures and numbers. This is invaluable to Fostoria collectors.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Fostoria Tableware: 1944-1986 (Hardcover)
Excellant book for identifying Fostoria's patterns. Some patterns shown were not made during this time period and not all patterns are included. All in all, it has been very helpful. Great pictures, very detailed. Good use of the catalog pages. Wish they had one of the very early patterns made.
