Book Description

Kevin's friend is constantly taking pics and sharing them online, but the incriminating ones he took at a party are going to cost Kevin his girlfriend unless he can find a way to delete them.
He looks for a phone app that can delete online pics and discovers a tool that does much more than just erase images from the internet - it patches time to make the events disappear for everyone else.
Before long, Kevin realizes that Fotogone is the perfect device to allow him to explore his twisted fantasies without any consequences.
Kevin is a sociopath.  He just doesn't know it - yet.

This horror novelette (~12,000 words / 40 kindle pages) contains strong language, mild sexual situations, and violence.

This story is also included in the Bad Decisions anthology by Jason Finnerty - available now
(includes I Blame Stephen King, Target Acquired, Demons Among Us, and The Addiction

Editorial Reviews

Review

...I'm grateful it's only fiction.
...Short and Eek!
...FotoGone is Finnerty's best so far.
...Great story line. This story would have made a script for the old T.V. show The Twilight Zone. Neat ending that I did not see coming.
...a storyline that is completely on par with our technology and era. Perhaps even an image of the future of apps.
...Best page turner in a LONG time!

When you watch a scary film and the eerie music starts in the background you just know something bad is going to happen, well this book has that eerie music feel to it. At first you start feeling sympathy for the main character, even if it is his own fault. Then I found myself shaking my head mumbling don't do it. All that sympathy gets tossed back into the readers face in a scenario I can only describe as horrific. I wasn't expecting it, but as the story progressed I could feel the hairs rise up on the back of my neck.It is also a storyline that is completely on par with our technology and era. Perhaps even an image of the future of apps. This contains some scenes that may be a little upsetting to some readers, but the writer gets his point across without any gratuitous details. I think it would be a great concept for a novel or novella instead of a short story.

5.0 out of 5 stars SMH- Shaking My Head April 17, 2012

This could be one fantastic app if it weren't for the crazy in some people. I really liked this story. The idea of clearing the problem spot in your day or life is intriguing and gave me an 'I want' moment. The story though, made me think again. This is the first story I have read by this author and I honestly believe I would read more. A fantastic writer, a disturbing story and a perfectly outstanding book. I recommend it with a shiver and the knowledge I will never get it out of my head.

Wow! A fifty minute read for me and I was impressed. Great story line. This story would have made a script for the old T.V. show The Twilight Zone. Neat ending that I did not see coming. 5 Stars you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best page turner in a LONG time! November 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book grabbed me from page one! It was quick, clever and gruesomely compelling. The perfect kid, best student, popular, has the girlfriend everybody wants. We all know this guy, right? Or do we? Where is the chink in this PERFECT guys armor? Read and discover. Do some of those all American types we see each day have some sick twisted switch that can be flipped if the opportunity presents itself? This book answers that question quite aptly. Though it is not for the faint of heart, it is definitely a true experiment in human nature. What would you do if you knew you could erase your worst behavior?

What a fantastic read! I'm a fan of dark stories but am often disappointed when they start out with such potential only to have the writer take the easy way out at the end and ruin what was an excellent premise. Not so here. Jason Finnerty 'brings' it right until the final page. Deliciously chilling!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Short read November 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Really short but good read about how life could all change with the right app. The book for sure is very very close to reality and is written well (though for a kind of mature audience).

Loads of twists, Loads of fantasies and the right Narration.

4.0 out of 5 stars original , but predictable.
I thought FotoGone was a well written short story, very original in it 's concept, yet the ending was rather predictable. Still, for the price, it 's worth down-loading. Read more

More About the Author

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I was encouraged by an amazing teacher to pursue writing. He thought I had a bit of talent, so I did what pretty much any teenager does when an adult gives them advice.

I ignored him.

Twenty years later, I was tired of a corporate life and chose to get back into writing. I joined a local comedy troupe.

And I wrote.

Writing sketches is fun, but watching the skits you've written come to life through the actors on stage is amazing. I was hooked instantly, but unfortunately the troupe wasn't able to continue performing.

I wanted a career in writing so I went back to university and finished my degree. I learned how to write professionally and I'm happy to have made it my career.

Inbetween client assignments, I've been pecking away at short and short'ish stories. I have a novel in the works (as does every writer...) Hopefully I'll get that completed soon. Ish.

My promise: If you keep reading, I'll keep writing.
