I really wanted to like this, because I am a strong believer in sometimes it doesn't pay to purchase the name brand item. Yesterday, I used these cables for an hour and a half and the cable that was properly secured to my camera body snapped right off at the head. I was shooting and looked down and the cord was just hanging there. It was obviously not from excessive use and I was just shooting a wedding and anything crazy. Super bummed these didn't work out. But if you are shooting something on location, please do yourself a favor and buy the name brand.

I would not recommend this cable - unless I just happened to get a bad one. On the very first use, the screw connector piece was ripped right off when I unplug it. I made sure it wasn't screwed in when I went to detach the cable. I tried the other end of the cable, the same thing happened but the pin fell off too. I never even got to use the cable before both ends broke. When the piece fell off, you could see the very small amount of solder holding it on. There is no way it could have lasted more than a use or two. Fortunately, the product is stocked with Amazon so it was an easy return.

The reason for this purchase was to replace the 10' cables that came with my strobes and connected to my Yongnuo wireless triggers with a shorter cable with a screw lock on the PC end. I originally ordered the Yongnuo brand, but the 3.5mm plug was slightly different than a standard 3.5mm plug (see my review on the Yongnuo version for more info)and did not make proper contact with my Interfit strobes. I returned the Yongnuos and bought these and they work perfectly. Durability remains to be seen, but 5 stars until proven otherwise.

Please...as a rule of thumb...test your gear that you order...especially prior to a project/event...thankfully I religiously employ this practice. As far as connectivity...they serve as a good conduit and will allow your respective "gear" to fire. However, one of the cables came undone at the head (screw lock). Kinda' unfortunate. Other than that "flaw" the other one seems to be well built. I hope it was just a "lemon."

Everything I've read online has indicated that the FotoTech Male to Male PC cable is supposed to allow me to use an external flash such as an SB600 with my Mamiya RB67 (using a hotshoe for the flash). This cable arrived and will not fire my flash from my RB67 nor will it fire a flash sync'd to any of my other cameras. I may have received a faulty cable and will update if another cable provides better results.

These are much better than the ones that the OEM version - and at much less cost. The coiled cord seems to provide a better user experience than the straight cord from the manufacturer. I plan to buy a few more to have in my bag. Very well pleased with these and would recommend people buy one to try. If you've been using the name brand, you will not be disappointed - possibly even pleasantly surprised.

Works as advertised (with the 580EX II). The wire seems to be of better quality compared to the ones I got with my pocket wizard. The locking mechanism is solid and keep the connection intact even when tugged upon. Would surely buy again. Delivery was prompt as well.

Only downside is that even though I bought the 3 piece set... it came with only a single carry pouch which was odd.

EDIT: 6th Dec 2014
As stated by others, after a month of using the screw connector piece came right off. I'm ordering another set since the other two I ordered are sill working for now and currently the need overshadows the inconvenience of carrying a spare cord for location shoots. Will update if things go bad. Rating updated to 4 stars.

Product works as promised. Very high quality product. The screw connector is a god-send and I expect that this will eliminate the flaky performance that I have experienced with original Pocket Wizard cables. I also like the coiled cable, which is thick and sturdy and should keep things more tidy as well as prevent costly accidents. I can highly recommend this product and seller.

Connecting to a Canon 580exII. I love the idea that it can screw on so it doesn't pop off all the time. However, the screw-on sleeve thingy is not tight enough, the connection part can still slide on-off even when it's screwed on. It doesn't come completely off, but the connection is lost. The connection part is loose-fitting so the connection fails all the time.

Excellent quality. Connected properly to the wireless receiver via the PC sync port and worked correctly with my Alien Bee strobe. If you have more than one strobe, better buy the 3-pack to save on the shipping fee for individuals. Thick wiring gauge means good quality, coiling prevents tangling while provides enough length if needed. Highly recommended.
