Hard to focus...,

This review is from: Fotodiox Pro Lens Mount Adapter, Contax G Lens to MFT Micro 4/3 (Four Thirds System) Camera, for Olympus Pen E-PL1, E-P2, Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1, G2, GH2, GF1, GH1 G10, (Electronics)
I use it with my E-PL1 and the Contax 90mm f/2.8
As the other reviewer said: it is very very hard to focus using that tiny wheel. However, with determination and patient I finally get it in focus every time I need to. Judging from that we have no other choices (to my knowledge), this is the only option for me. It would be great if some company creates other adapter with bigger focus ring/wheel. Until then, I think I have to tolerate it and have to get used to this kind of irritation every time I want to use this lens. For the material quality, as always the same as other products by Fotodiox, it's good, metal with black finishing. Look sharp and smart with the camera and lens. This one even come with little zipper pouch for the adapter itself (maybe this is why the price is significantly more than the other adapter by Fotodiox - around double price of that OM to m4/3 - haha, just kidding)

The simple design of this adapter makes it the most trouble free adapter in the market. I have used another more expensive adapter that has a focus ring; that one leaked grease within a day and was very hard to attach and detach lenses. In comparison, mounting or dismounting Zeiss lenses with this Fotodiox adapter is a snap and reliable because you can hold the adapter base firmly while twisting the lens to attach. Focusing Zeiss lenses (tried only 45 mm f/2 and 90 mm f/2.8) on GF1 body is done by turning the geared thumb-wheel on this adapter. The thumb-wheel was stiff to turn initially but became smooth within 3-4 days of use. The best practice to avoid lens shake during manual focus is to wrap your left palm around the upper side of the lens and turn the focusing wheel with your left thumb. Posted a couple of images on the product page.

The good: I've missed for many years using my beautiful Carl Zeiss lenses built for the Contax G2. So I'm really thrilled to have that adapter available. Quality and price are good and it works well with 2 of my 3 lens (the 45mm and the 90mm), as mentioned in other reviews, the 28mm cannot fit.
The bad: manual focus on a screen only camera (I have the GF1) is not always easy and almost impossible on a moving subject even though the on-screen zoom for manual focus on the GF1 is very helpful. But what makes things very difficult is the very small wheel that allows focus on that adapter. It requires force and makes moves jerky. Technically it would not have been that difficult to use a narrow rim around the adapter instead, giving it a much better leverage.
