Product Description

The Fotodiox OM-MFT Lens adapter allows you to place your favorite Olympus OM Zuiko lens on your Micro Four Thirds camera body. This adapter gives you the ability to use your irreplaceable prime lens and saves you the cost of purchasing new lenses. The adapters are precision made to insure the perfect fit. The lens will fit physically, but the automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, and other functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. In this case, "stop-down mode" will need to be used when metering, since the lens does not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera body. You can shoot in manual or aperture priority mode. Infinity focusing is guaranteed.

I picked up a Lumix G1 here on Amazon, body only. The lack of affordable lenses from Panasonic is a turn-off, so I got the Fotodiox adapter and then picked up some older but good Olympus lenses on eBay. My primary interest is in nature closeups, so I looked for, and found, an Olympus OM 50mm F3.5 Auto-Macro lens for just $55.00 in perfect condition. Now, yes you don't have auto focus with this adapter, but in most cases in macro-photography you are using manual focus anyway. Well, after the lens arrived, I attached the adapter and lens to the G1, and it works just incredibly well. The adapter is very well machined, everything fits and feels like it was designed for each other. Nothing is loose, nor binding tight, just right. And, the price for the Fotodiox is right!! After I played with it for a while, I recommended it to a family member who has a G1 and a bunch of Olympus OM lenses, and she is happy with it too. Just remember in the G1 Custom setup screen to have the "Shoot W/O Lens" set to 'ON', otherwise you will get an error message when you turn on the camera, "Please check that the lens is attached correctly" Great quality, great price.

It does exactly what it says on the tin.

Perfect fit, very very snug - would be surprised if it was made by olympus themselves.

Ignore other reviews which dont give it 5 out of 5 because it doesn't allow autofocus - its clearly for manual focus lenses only.

im about to order another adapter from fotodiox, they are great quality.

It fits perfectly to my E-PL1 and the old OM 50mm f1.8 lens.
Snap & tight!
The material looks good to me, solid metal with smooth finished.
Don't pay 5 times more for the genuine Olympus one... this one is more than enough!

This adapter fits will, but seems to be a tad to short - it focuses an OM 50mm f/1.8 slightly beyond infinity. This means for landscapes you can't just rotate the focus ring all the way, you need to dial in the focus ring manually, even for distant subjects.

That said, it's fun and addictive to shoot with old manual lenses. I almost enjoy it more than the autofocus kit lens.

This adapter does the job. It's a lot cheaper than the Olympus or Panasonic "official" adapters. My only caveat is that it's a bit of a tight fit: affixing it to the camera body, it is a bit too tight, and it needs a firm twist. But it's OK.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much after reading reviews of other non-1st party adapters. Most of them claimed that they were plastic and weren't meant to be removed from the lens, etc. Imagine my surprise when this all metal, perfectly fit and finished adapter slides on and off both the body and the OM lenses with my Olympus Pen E-PL1. This thing is GREAT! I was able to get lenses on eBay for $30-40 that when combined with this adapter rival $500+ lenses. I'm not a big fan of auto-focus anyways, so thats not a concern for me. Just very satisfied overall, definitely recommend.

No problems whatsoever using with an OM 50mm f1.4 and my Olympus E-P1. Infinity focusing is fine. Fit is nice.

It isn't the prettiest thing, but it works great.

The description doesn't mention that there is a stop in the adapter that keeps automatic-aperture OM-mount lenses at maximum aperture for focusing. AFater focusing the user can push the depth-of-field preview lever to stop the lens down to the pre-selected shooting aperture. This is useful for shooting on M4/3 cameras with shutter-speed priority, as long as the camera has enough time to calculate the proper shutter speed between the time the user presses the preview lever and the time he presses the exposure button (probably needs only microseconds, anyway).
The stop looks like it can be removed permanently.

Very nicely made and good value for the price.
