5.0 out of 5 stars Great Also For Easy Panorama Photos
In addition to its intended function for correction (or creative alteration) of perspective shifts, the Fotodiox Shift Adapter provides a quite easy option for the creation of moderate panorama photos, which is the primary use I put mine to, without the requirement for utilization of a dedicated panorama tripod head.

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid for landscape or normal distance photography.
This is an example of poor execution of a really good idea. It does NOT focus on infinity with my Nikon lenses because it is a fraction of a mm too long/thick. (If it had been 'too' thin all that would have been lost is some close focus ability - not a deal breaker.) The integrated 1/4 20 mount point is also a good idea again poorly executed - seems fragile and a little...

This is a great idea that has been destroyed by poor execution (just like the socialism.

Out of box the adapter does not work as advertised. I have purchased i in order to adapt a Nikon 24mm manual focus lens to GH2 body as I was excited by an opportunity to have a shift mechanism.

It seems well built, and well designed but there are issues that will render this adapter unusable.

1: it will not work with most manual focus Nikon lenses! It will not focus at the infinity unless you stop down significantly! This is a design and or manufacturing flaw. It is also an advertising fraud as the Fotodiox website explicitly guaranties that it will focus at the infinity. The lens I bought it for is one of the lenses they used in a product pictures on their website, as a matter of fact. I had to modify the Nikon lens to change its focusing adjustment. It works now with an adapter but when used on a Nikon camera the distance markings do not match and it now focuses beyond the infinity at the sacrifice to the close up range.

2: adjustment lock ring is in a very bad location on the body of the adapter. It is very often impossible to release or to tighten it without taking the adapter off the camera body.

3: poor customer service. I have e-mailed and called the manufacturer and had never gotten a response.

Update (22 June 2011): So now I have 3 more Nikon F-mount lenses and not a single one of them will focus on the infinity when used with this adapter! To stress it once more, Fotodiox explicitly guaranties that it will focus at the infinity on the product page on their website.
