A good quality adapter that works well with Takumar and Super Takumar lenses.
On one particular lens only (a 55mm f/1.4 lens)The auto aperture lug of the lens was just touching the inner rim of the adapter. A slight rub with 600 grade wet-and-dry paper overcame this problem.
This adapter does not work with the Tamron Adaptall 2 system.

Well made. Does exactly what it says it will do. Adapts M42 screw mount to Canon EOS mount. I'm using it with a Canon 1Ds MkII and an Auto-Takumar 35mm f/3.5 prime. Aperture priority is the easiest way (for me) to use the lens. You get 0.0 for aperture, and the Shutter setting the camera picks is based on the light that comes through the lens, and your selected metering mode. That light is controlled by the stop down setting of the lens. It all works. No problems.

I recently ordered this mount to adapt a vintage Zeiss prime lens to my Canon 5D Mark II. It does NOT fit on my lens - be aware of the size of the mount with the specific lens you are going to use. I assumed this would work for any M42 mount lens.

It perfectly fit my takumar lenses (I previously used them for my honeywell pentax)
the only thing that sucks is since that they are old lenses, there is no image stabilizer so alot of shots can come out blurry, but that just all depends on how you hold your camera; if it is placed on a tripod it should be fine.
other than than this product is perfect. I just used my vintage lens on my Canon 60D and had no problems with it!

If you have M42 lenses (like those from Pentax, Yashica, Fuji, mamiya/sekor, Praktica, and so many others) and own a Canon EOS camera, this lens adapter will enable you to use those lenses!

The adapter threads onto the lens and then lens/adapter combo snaps onto the camera as if it was a Canon lens.

This adapter is great for lenses that have lens openings with an f-number higher than f/5.6 because the more expensive "assisted-focus" adapters will not work if the lens opening is has a higher number than f/5.6.

For lenses with an f-number smaller than f/5.6, this adapter will work and still represents a great value, but if you can affort to spend more, check out the "assisted focus" adapters.

If you have a M42 lens that does not have a way to stop down the aperture, and the lens stays wide open except by pushing the little pin on the back, then this adapter is not going to work because it does not push the pin. Most quality M42 lenses have a switch that can be moved to "stop-down" the lens - this adapter will work with those type of lenses.

I bought five of these to use with long telephotos. I just screwed them on, put a Canon lens cap on the back and leave them mounted, ready to use right away without any fumbling!

If you have the lenses, why not use them? definitely buy

Unlike some more expensive M42 adapters this doesn't have a way to stop down the lens. However since the main reason I bought it is to use with an old set of macro bellows[1] and to occasionally use my 500mm mirror lens[2] this isn't a showstopper for me; YMMV.

Sometimes sticks a little when trying to remove it, but otherwise does everything it should.

[1] these have their own mechanism, with a double cable release.
[2] this has a fixed aperture anyway

This adapter fits my old Nikon lens perfectly to my Canon T2i. My only "complaint" is the small release lever doesn't seem very durable, and I'm nervous that it will break with lots of use. Other than that small note, I'm very happy with it, especially for the price.
