5.0 out of 5 stars A very good product
A very good product, even not considering the money spent. It is a big save from buying the OEM one from Canon and works just the same. I haven't noticed any issues with glare due to the inside being flat plastic instead of felt like Canon.

3.0 out of 5 stars If you can't afford a good one, this one isn't bad
I already broke the lens hood to my 24-150mm f/4L IS USM lens. I also spent more than $5000 on camera equipment this month and couldn't justify to hubby putting us in the poor house for "just one more thing," and figured this would at least work better than super gluing the broken one back together (if that would work at all).

SO... it arrived quickly, and it...

SO... it arrived quickly, and it fits on my lens. However, it does seem kind of snug in an odd way as described by others (kept going on crooked at first), and it is lacking the flocking (which reduces light reflection better than matte black paint) of the Canon one. I decided I could skip lunch on the days when I'm home alone and find the budget money to replace it with a real Canon one after all. This one will be a spare for if I ever need it again, but I really like the Canon one much better.

Could not ask for much more. The fit was great, not too tight at all, and the price can't be beat.

This lens hood fits too tight. I'm concerned that the lens may be damaged. Perhaps it can be shaved down somehow to fit, but the one I received is too tight.

i've been using this with no problem at all, unless you take it off. it's a bit hard. It's very cheap and worth the try. Dont use it while using the flash

2.0 out of 5 stars Very snug fit, September 13, 2011

The Fotodios lens hood for my 24-105mm Canon fits but it was extremely tight. The one I got with the camera was miss place and this was an inexpensive replacement. It gets the job done but I thought I was going to break my lens trying to get it on the first time. It is a bit more loose now but still very snug.

I don't know if the one who create this has even try to fit the hood on the lens before he mass produce it. It too tight and hard to take it off.

2.0 out of 5 stars Didn't fit on my lens, April 20, 2011

This review is from: Fotodiox Dedicated (Bayonet) Lens Hood, for Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM as Canon EW-83H (Electronics)
I have the Canon lens this shade was designed for. The hood that came with the lens is chipped so I thought I'd try a less expensive substitute based on the reviews which seemed o.k. I might add that I am quite handy or at least capable of screwing on a lens shade. My OEM shade and the Fotodiox shade look very much alike but I couldn't get the latter to lock into position. It was way too tight to force it and, of course, I didn't want to damage a very expensive lens. I returned it without a problem but I wouldn't recommend it to others based on the one I received.

I thought the Fotodiox Dedicated (Bayonet) Lens Hood, for Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM as Canon EW-83H was a Canon, when I first got it. The clever writing on the hood even led me to believe that. Overall, a 5 star product, considering the money spent. It is a big save from buying the OEM one from Canon and works just the same. I havent noticed any issues with glare due to the inside being flat plastic instead of felt (like Canon). Don't let that be a detractor. Good purchase!

This was purchased based on low price. The fit is unacceptable. It was so tight I thought the lens would break screwing it on. Don't buy this product.
