"Get Found Now!" is a Fantastic Book. It is well written, easy to understand and follow, and excellently illustrated. Even a non-techie can get maximum use from this book on how to improve your placement in the major search engines. I am fortunate to have been able to have taken a class from Rich and Shannon dealing with Local Search before the book was published. This book covers many things beyond what I learned in their class. In fact, I have read the book three times cover to cover and each time I have picked up things I missed in the previous reading. For example, Google News on page 103 jumped out at me during my last reading, because Press Releases have always been an enigma to me. If you already know some things about Local Search, this book will definitely shorten your learning curve as well as expand the avenues to your success.

I met the author of this book at a Seattle networking event, and due to his self proclaimed "expertise" in the area decided to hire him for a large project costing several thousand dollars. That's when I learned that Richard was simply making it up as he went. "I don't know, let's try it" was a common answer to my questions.

The book may provide a couple of basic nuggets but is already out of date - which is the excuse that Richard kept using when he couldn't deliver the most basic of functions - setting up local listings for a multiple unit chain of stores. He kept blaming Google for changing the rules/processes which may be true - which is why this book will likely be worthless to you. What's worse is after the project deadline passed by several months, he eventually just stopped answering emails or returning calls effectively abandoning me and the project, while he KEPT the first half of the money that I already paid him. This just goes to show you that "anyone" can be an author these days, and I doubt some of the reviews that I read here. "#1 in Google on day 1?" Give me a break. There is likely better resources for your money as this author was clearly copying and pasting from what Google already tells you during their own sign up process.

I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time to learn about Richard Geasey and his work. I had received an e-mail from Janelle Elms inviting me to be on a webinar featuring Richard and his work. The webinar had already started when I received the e-mail and I was 10 minutes late joining the talk. Even with the 10 minutes I missed I still learned enough to position our business in the #1 position on Google the very same day I was on the webinar!

Richard knows his stuff! I was so impressed that I purchased both of his books. I'm using both books to promote our 3 businesses...all to great success. I highly recommend this book and Richard Geasey.

I just had the pleasure of reading "Get Found Now! Local Search Secrets Exposed: Learn How to Achieve High Rankings in Google, Yahoo and Bing (Volume 1)" and was quite impressed with the info found within. Local search is something that every business with a geographically-based target market should immediately implement on their website. Without local search, these businesses are losing hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in lost opportunities.

The instructions were very clear, concise and easy to implement, and the illustrations make the directions almost foolproof. I've taught a local search seminar, and Evans and Geasey presented information that was new even to me. I love it when I can add yet another strategy to my marketing kit!

What I found especially impressive is that this book is on the cutting edge of mobile marketing, or marketing by cell phone. They offered cutting-edge directions and information about the best ways to get your business found when someone is seeking local info about a particular kind of business and how to get yours to show up in this search.

If your business has a website and you market to a local audience, run, don't walk to Amazon to buy a copy of this book. It'll be the best investment you make in your business this year!

This book is for every small business that doesn't have the money to hire a web/seo company or the time to learn by trial and error. I have been studying web development for about 4 years. There are even some new ideas for people like me. I would have been so much farther ahead of my competitors if I had read this book back when I started. I am going to be recommending this book to all my clients and friends who ask me about help with their websites. It's a great resource.

Local Search (I now know) is not rocket science. It's just a matter of taking a series of steps so that your website appears in Local Search Results, which is that list of businesses and their locations that often appears at the top of search results. This book walks you through each step necessary. Screenshots are a bit grainy I thought, but the textual instructions were enough for me to follow the steps without a bother. Full disclosure: I know Richard Geasey through business contacts. If the potential customer base for your website is within driving distance, then this handy little book on Local Search is exactly what you need.

If your a small business looking to promote online this book is essential. Very easy to read and full tutorials on how to rank high in local search.

I bought this book to find out more information on how to do local search marketing. I found the content very easy to understand even for the non-technical people. I sent a couple of emails to Rich (one of the authors) and asked for his advice based on my personal situation, and I got replies within a day. I would recommend this book to whose who are thinking about doing local search marketing!

The authors did their homework on the subject of Local Search. I had only a very basic understanding of this until I heard the authors present at a local workshop. What I appreciate is that I achieved favorable results almost immediately. If you have a business that counts on local customers to find you, then these techniques will be a blessing. Well written and easy to follow along, I am now recommended this book to friends and clients alike. It is current, with information on all the major search engines, even Microsoft's BING. Mine is full of yellow highlighter and dog-eared pages, so buy one for yourself and improve your business results.

Okay - 58 minutes cover to cover with 4 pages of notes of great points and tips. Okay I read fast, but I think most should be able to read, absorb in 4 hours. My initial estimate is this book will save the average do it yourself (DIY) small business owner/marketer about 60 hours of research at the library ( I have done this without Shannon's book) and they are in my Google library. This is a value of $3000 if the person brings $50per hour they spend on their business selling, managing, etc. I suspect they will be able to implement the sample walk thru's in 8 hours and see results in 24-72 hours. So for a similar investment of $50 per hour, they will spend $400 in results bearing work and if they get 1 new sale per week with a net sale profit of $50, they break even in 2 months for their time, 1 more week for the book and miles ahead in profit by the end of one year. Net, net, net is no need to invest in $3000 of research, use $400 of DIY time to get $2500 back in a year minus the book and DIY time, net $2050. Yes, I like numbers that involve time and money. I will be posting a "Book review" on my site and blog by weekend, so you can see my references and why this book is such a brilliant concise "head shot" for the DIY Small business and pros of the IT community that do this day in and day out.
