This was a gift for my mother. She LOVED it! Many interesting stories and tidbits that she was unaware of. My parents raised quarter horses for over 40 years - and many of the bloodlines went way back to these 'unsung' heroines of the breed. She traveled on a few quarter horse inspection trips with a local breed qualifier back in the 50's and 60's. Back then, some of the horses had to meet specific criteria to become a Quarter Horse. She read the book cover to cover and made several notations in it.
