This review is from: Foundations of C++/CLI: The Visual C++ Language for .NET 3.5 (Expert's Voice in .NET) (Paperback)
I have been programming C++ for years but I never worked in the .NET world but I needed to learn it for my latest assignment. This book was very well organized and I found it provided much useful information to help me with my transition. This book is not for beginners.

This review is from: Foundations of C++/CLI: The Visual C++ Language for .NET 3.5 (Expert's Voice in .NET) (Paperback)
This is a very useful and the most complete C++/CLI book I read. Definitely much better than books like CLI in Action but not perfect, because the author is not a language designer like Stroustrup or Sutter.
One of the things I found very useful is the format of examples with printed output that really makes it very easy to understand order of execution, branching etc. If you are an experienced C++ programmer and need to learn how to write managed code you will not regret buying this book. |
