Outmoded computer security,

This review is from: Foundations of Computer Security (Paperback)
So far, my computer's security software hasn't activated an alert because stored sensitive information may possibly be sent to a remote server, like the disk that came with this author's data compression guide activated. No disk was included with this book, so this time I did not see anything inside the book's back cover that the publisher asserts the right to "audit" a computer which has the author's software on it. Also, I guess it is a positive that I do not remember anything that I read in this book that I consider being overtly incoherent, like the case study I read in his data compression reference / handbook series. In conclusion, I have little doubt that the author should know a thing or two about how a person's privacy could be violated. (c) |
