Jozef Gruska's textbook is an exciting, comprehensive introduction to theoretical computer science suitable for seniors or graduate students. Its examination of complexity issues is one of the best I have seen. The complete bibliograpy and chapter notes provide good clues for further study. Any student who admires the great books by Michael Sipser and Robert Floyd will find additional material in Gruska's book.
