About the Author
Allan C. Ornstein is Professor of Administration and Instructional Leadership at St. John's University in New York. He received his Ed.D. from New York University and is author of more than 15 texts and 2,000 articles and research papers. Prior to teaching at St. John's, he was a professor of Education at Loyola University in Chicago.
Daniel Levine is a former Professor of Education at the University of Nebraska. He is coauthor, with Robert J. Havighurst, of the Seventh Edition of the classic text, Society and Education. Dr. Levine authors numerous journal articles and papers on the topic of urban education.
