While the field of Mental Health Counseling is only a few decades old, this book makes it feel as if there are hundreds of years of history to cover. I will give the authors credit for compiling a wide varitey of essays on a broad range of topics; however, I can guarantee that this will be used more as a paperweight than as an actual reference text. There are much more interesting and insightful articles about current and past trends in MH counseling to be found on-line and through various academic/university libraries. In short, a lot of money for what could be found with solid research skills.
