The author of this textbook is actually Kathleen Park Talaro and it is Foundations in Microbiology 6th edition. I'm not certain as to why the author is listed as Arthur Talaro, even given the exact isbn number of 978-0-07-110229-2

This book gives a lot of information for microbiology but if taking this as a college course and the professor recommends the 7th edition DO NOT get the 6th unless they have a conversion or syllabus from the old edition. This book does not line up with the 7th edition and has less chapters than the 7th. It is also missing many pictures/charts/graphs that the 7th includes and may need to be looked at for your college course. It is overall a great book for studying microbiology but will not suffice in place of the 7th edition for your college courses.

I really liked this textbook. It was interesting and the pictures were well explained, which is nice because microbiology depends a lot on good images. This text is no longer the newest edition, but some professors will let you use it anyhow. This was the international edition, and my classmates were jealous that I paid so little for the book. The inside looks exactly the same and is full color.
