I liked this book because it explained difficult micro concepts in an understandable fashion. I liked the illustrations in the book and the parasitic microbes was most interesting. I also found the following which I got on amazon outstanding:

This study guide helped me study for my college exams because these questions were the kind my teacher asked. Both books are very good, I'm glad I used them. I passed the my micro class with ease.

Its a solid textbook. The graphics are up-to-date and well done, the "sidebar" information is pertinent and helps illustrate and explain the concepts in the text. Get the study guide, its helpful too.

Amazon saved me a pile of money over the campus bookstore (no sales tax either!), and this one arrived quickly thanks to me being a Prime member.

As text books go, this one is pretty decent to learn from (especially since we have no choice, only the professor does). It is much more oriented toward nursing/medical than general biology majors, and puts most of the data in a medical/healthcare context. So if you are straight-biology major and not headed to Med or Nursing, then you may want to see what else is out there.

My professor chose this textbook for my microbiology course and it was a great choice. This textbook offers a ton of colorful, informative charts and pictures, which make learning this difficult subject more fun and much easier. The majority of the topics were very well explained and made this course fun. I would highly recommend this textbook to any microbiology professor looking for a textbook for their class!

Good book, easy reading. I bought it for my microbiology class, and I got it at about half the price at Amazon than I would have paid at the book store.

Good reading. Great illustrations. Easy to understand especially with the help of the free resources from the their website (just click on resources).

I purchased this book brand new from Amazon.com. It arrived on time along with my lab manual. The book is in mint condition. It is full of infomation on Microbiology. It has end-of-chapter reviews and coorelating websites along with case studies. It is a very "interactive" book, if you will. Full of vibrant photos and excellent detail.

Item was shipped fast, still in packaging. The book itself is wonderful. It summarizes each section and then an overall summary of the chapter. It's simple to read and understand compared to another Microbiology book I have. I would recommend it!

This is the book assigned by my professor for my class. Typical textbook but so far so good. Since it is a textbook and the semester just started, I would have to say no complaints but no rave review either.
