Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

The approach of this text treats international financial management as a natural and logical extension of the principles learned in the foundations course in financial management. Thus, the book focuses on decision making in an international context. Numerous examples, both numerical and institutional, illustrate the application of these concepts and techniques. The emphasis throughout is on taking advantage of being multinational. This book is distinctly different from Shapiro's other texts, Multinational Financial Management, 4/e, in that the chapters are shorter and simpler, have more examples, and are less technical because of its reduction and/or elimination of the mathematics used. --This text refers to an alternate Hardcover edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book, September 22, 2009

Although this book is used in grad courses, an undergrad student who wants to see how financial markets work with an economic analysis, this will be the right option.

3.0 out of 5 stars Can be confusing, major focus on economics, June 10, 1999
By A Customer
This textbook may not be a good choice for undergraduate students or for someone who does not have an intermediate or higher knowledge of finance. Wording in the chapters and in the end of chapter problems can be confusing. Statements are made and then not backed up with supporting information. The book spends a large amount of time on a macroeconomic view.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book takes a macroeconomic view of international financial management as other reviews have stated. If you know little or nothing about macro, this book is not for you. Some of the questions at the end of the chapters can be little challenging as there is not enough supporting information contained within the book itself to answer them. Also, there are quite a few historical perspectives in the book along with excessive text that does not add much. I feel that illustrative examples is something that this book is sorely missing. If written in this way, I believe that the book would be an easier read.
