About the Author
Israel Regardie was one of the foremost occultists and magicians of the twentieth century. He started his career as Aleister Crowley’s private secretary, went on to join the Golden Dawn, and ultimately publish their teachings. In the sixties he was instrumental in the magical revival and the re-establishment of the Golden Dawn.

These essays will give you a great foundation in both magickal theory and practice. The final essay "The Art of True Healing" has been published as a separate book in itself and gives a complete explanation of his middle pillar ritual as well as practical uses for it. The Qabala articles are great as a quick jump start into theory. If you want to buy one Regardie book, this is it.

Very good book. . . it is becoming increasingly difficult to find for a reasonable price. This book contains a collection of 5 essays by Israel Regardie, including:1. The Art and Meaning of Magic 2. How it's been revised post-mortem I do not know. I can only hope the editors have not taken too many liberties with this absolutely remarkable collections of essays, culminating with his best known one: 'The Art of True Healing'.
Israel Regardie, stands with Dion Fortune, Gareth Knight, W. E. Butler & Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki as among the greatest contributors to Qabalistic magical writing. Buy this book!
