GOOD MANUAL BUT PRICEY,

This review is from: Foundations on Rock: Engineering Practice (Hardcover)
I am a dam engineer, working for an italian consulting company.Foundations on rock is a good manual, being a reference book in our firm together with US army corps manuals. Please consider that the author often follows Hoek's empirical approach for rock mechanics ( he wrote the update of one of Hoek books ). Therefore I think you should buy this book if you like Hoek's approach. This book includes several practical examples together with a complete description of the theory behind. The only drawback of this book, on my opinion, is its price. Because of its price this book aims at the professionals market only. |
