4.0 out of 5 stars Seek and ye shall find March 22, 2013
Format:Audio CD
Having bought their underwhelming eponymous first album, I was reticent to buy this, their follow-up. However, they had shown great promise with their first single and I suspect there may have been issues in the studio execution of that first album. This one is leagues better!

The See See are a London-based outfit, fronted by Richard Olson, the man behind Eighteenth Day of May. But where Eighteenth Day of May were what reviewers like to term "psych folk" this new band of Olson's is decidedly latter-half 60s in influence.

They have a distinctly Liverpool/Manchester sound and had me seeking out my old Shack (Michael Head) records. Sounding in part like Stone Roses, "Expecting to Fly"-era Bluetones, Delta (Jame Roberts), early Verve and, very occasionally, mild Spacemen 3, this Byrdsian band is for anyone who grew up with the jangle-pop sounds of the late 80s and early 90s. It's a little psych, a little garage and a lot of 60s.

Uncut magazine gave this album 8 out of 10. Piccadilly Records raved about it. Do yourself a favour - if you think you're going to like it, buy it, you won't be disappointed.
