5.0 out of 5 stars If You Like Rock N' Roll At All, You'll Love This, April 22, 2001

This review is from: Four Cornered Night (Audio CD)
In the small, remote town I live in, the only music you'll ever hear is on MTV. I never knew music could sound like this. I'd never heard anything indie at all, and nothing that wasn't on the radio.

I heard about Jets To Brazil though EVE6, who sing there praises constantly. I picked up "Orange Rhyming Dictionary" and instantly fell in love. The jet's second album is pure bliss.

This is the CD that sealed my fate as a musician. On some tracks, like Milk and Apples and Your x-rays it is impossible to sit still. little light is a song that will be stuck in your head until next may. This album is dark and catchy.

What's great is the Jets accessibility. You can sing along to this! The lyrics are thoughtful and emotional. The music is lush and full, incorporating cellos and keyboards among other sounds to round it out.

The first three songs are good but after that this album really picks up speed. It is not the same ole same ole. You'll be left in awe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Moving on.., September 6, 2000
This review is from: Four Cornered Night (Audio CD)
Orange Rhyming Dictionary is a great album, but Four Cornered Night is even better.. In my opinion, this album brings out the true personality of Jets to Brazil. Brian (the "new" addition)completed this band and brought to the second album the essential elements that the first one was lacking. Forget what disgruntled Jawbreaker fans have to say.. I am a loyal Jawbreaker fan.. but guess what, folks.. this is NOT JAWBREAKER.. they never will be, and that's not a bad thing. Get over it already. I strongly suggest you see this band live, they put on a great show, and seeing them live will bring a new perspective to the album that you can't get otherwise. Check out the Jade Tree website for tour information.. don't miss this show!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Take it for what it is., November 28, 2000

This review is from: Four Cornered Night (Audio CD)
This album was certainly surprising and the tone unexpected. At first I was very disappointed expecting something a little more like their first release, or like Jawbreaker's Dear You. After a few days of bitterness I gave it a chance and listened to it without my previous expectations, and realized just how amazing it is. The lyrics are powerful, clearly sprouting from a lost love, and the music, though softer, is far from a let down. The songs Mid-Day Anonymous and Orange Rhyming Dictionary are simply amazing. I strongly reccomend this cd.
