2.0 out of 5 stars Amateurish effort
I purchased a copy of the book from the author while he was in the Eugene "Barnes and Noble". It was riddled with typos, mispellings, and grammatical errors.

I enjoyed it as a quick read, but the characters and plot were quite unconvincing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Psychological Suspense, November 28, 2011
This review is from: Four Crows (Dreammaker, Book 1) (Hardcover)
Ralph Gabriel dreams of a house for his family. Student, Sarah Connell really wants to go law school, while Kristen Conrad wants to study in Paris to further her art. Entrepreneur Andrew Lee was success and 15 minutes of fame. John just wants the money and leave the horrid game. But the rules of the newest reality show, Dream Maker, state that the contestants must complete all of the tasks together or fail together. If they survive the week in an unknown country, Mr. Bennett will grant all of their wishes. If the 5 fail, their lives as they know will lay in ashes. They must complete each task without any outside help of electronics. But the Dream Maker show isn't what it seems. Mr. Bennett has pernicious intent and if the contestants want to survive, they must figure out the game and what the FOUR CROWS Emblem really means.

Andrea Peters answers what the 5 individuals will do to win Bennett's game. But will their actions fulfill their dreams? And in this day and age where Reality TV Rules many cable channels, I believe the book is timely. Peters builds psychological suspense upon suspense from the beginning to the unsettling ending. I wasn't prepared to like this book because it took me a few chapters to get into the storyline; I am not a fan of Reality TV. Yet I did like the book and vacillated between liking the characters. And I cared what happened to them, even if their behavior shocked me. Shocked as Peters probably wanted me to be given what happened to each of them. What would I do if I could make a dream of mine come true? Run as fast as my bum legs would let me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Four Crows is a must read, March 3, 2011
This thriller was too fun. Fast paced, great characters and a novel (pun intended) premise. I read the kindle version whcih was evidently updated in 2010. I've enjoyed all of this authors writing and this one especially. It kept me up all night!

1.0 out of 5 stars Unreal, January 8, 2008
This review is from: Four Crows (Dreammaker, Book 1) (Hardcover)
I am an editor, my husband a budding writer. We both slogged our way through this travesty of a publication for the learning experience. Although he despises it, my husband is reading every word so he knows exactly how NOT to write his own novel. Bad sentence structure, bad grammar, misuse of words, no knowledge of punctuation, no flow to the language or the story, inappropriate metaphors. Whoever published this should be ashamed of their editing board, and should increase the expectation of 'polish' required of their authors' manuscripts before submission. Our single star rating would be a negative five if permitted. If the author shows so little caring for his own work, why should any reader feel compelled to read it?

1.0 out of 5 stars Wish I could give it zero stars, July 13, 2007

The spelling errors were distracting. Thankfully, I got this from the library and didn't waste money, but I sure wasted time. I haven't put a book down in years, but it was so painful that I couldn't finish it. A good first attempt by the author, but desperately in need of professional guidance.

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of time, July 1, 2005
This review is from: Four Crows (Dreammaker, Book 1) (Hardcover)
I have never reviewed a book on Amazon, but after reading Four Crows I was compelled to. I hated this book. The whole thing was riddled with editing errors, the plot was predtictable and weak, and it felt like certain parts were added just to pad pagecount. There are plotholes, characters that are introduced, then act out of character, repetition, pointless descriptions, and desperate attempts to be creepy. As I was reading it I felt like the author just rented "The Game", read Battle Royale, and then topped it with marathon reality television before setting out to write this waste of time.
