MAXED OUT by Brenda L. Thomas
Maxie's a bored high school teacher who needs some spice in her life. After taking a trip home during the summer break, she gets a little bit more than rest and relaxation. Using her great dance skills, she ventures on the wild side of life and parlays this innocent hobby into a lucrative money maker. The one thing she hadn't thought about: when you play with fire, you usually get burned. Torn between her new life, new love and old boyfriend, Maxie is faced with the challenge of making some hard decisions; is she up for it?

SEX, SIN AND BROOKLYN by Crystal Lacey Winslow
Being gorgeous is usually a ticket to stardom for some; for others, it's a hard way to go. Nicoli uses her looks to get everything she's ever wanted in life. She's always had a close-knit bond with her three friends: Joy, Stacy and Fertashia. They all have one thing in common, the love of money. Using her body has never been an issue, but a sure ticket to getting what she wants. Meeting the famous Black King and having him interested in her was money in the bank, but she never "banked" on karma coming around to step on her like she stepped on others.

SUMMER MADNESS by Rochelle Alers
Always a bridesmaid, finding the man of her dreams was never a priority. Nina Watkins was content to stay in love with the only thing that seemed to give her fulfillment: her books. When she catches the bouquet at her best friend's wedding, everything else falls into place like clockwork.

REBOUND by Reshonda Tate Billingsley
Getting stood up at the altar is never a woman's dream, but the ultimate nightmare. Victoria finds out firsthand when it happens to her. Never one to wallow in sorrow, she ends up taking that expensive honeymoon trip to sun, sand and freedom all alone; running into handsome Damon was just icing on the cake. In a foreign land with a complete stranger who is there to catch his wife in the act of cheating, Victoria and Damon find out that love deals us unfortunate cards, but sometimes you gain the best deck if played right. Who said love doesn't come by chance?

In Four Degrees of Heat, these authors demonstrate their own rendition of its "hot in herre". Nicely packaged in four intimate stories, these are bundled with sizzle, sex, and more sizzle. There's something in this for everyone. Graphic, no holds barred, straight up give it to me and more, all wrapped up in storylines sure to keep you reading. It may definitely be a little too risqué for some, but if you're into erotica, these novellas truly capture the essence of heat, sensuality and romance. Looking for something to keep you up? This is definitely one to start; although if you have a mate, you won't be reading it for long...

4.0 out of 5 stars A Nice Collection, September 2, 2004
This review is from: Four Degrees of Heat: A Collection of Sexy Summer Escapades (Paperback)
A Nice collection of summer stories.

I enjoyed Maxed Out by Brenda L. Thomas. A teacher turns exotic dancer for the summer. This was a good story.I like how Thomas weaves a tale and I really liked the way she ended it.
4 degrees of heat

Sex, Sin & Brooklyn by Crystal Lacey Winslow takes you to the darker side of a fling. I found it to me more like a street fiction tale. I didn't find it a sexy summer read. I did really enjoy the story and because I did I'm going to check out her books. It just didn't fit in this collection as a sexy summer story. But I rate this story 4 stars as a street fiction tale.
4 degrees of Darkness

Summer Madness by Rochelle Alers was an outstanding sexy summer read.
A shy librarian meets a sexy brother that is mysterious while on vacation in the Hamptons. A sexy, passionate read.
5 degrees of heat

I found ReShonda Tate Billingsley's story Rebound to a summer sizzler.
A jilted bride takes the honey moon anyway and finds some fun in the sun in Belize. This was comical as well as sexy.
5 Degrees of heat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Hot Hot and SUPER HOT, April 13, 2005

I could not put this book down because it was just that good. I rarely give reviews but this book is definitely a must read if you are into erotica books and follows a close pattern to erotica books by the infamous author ZANE.

MAXED OUT by Brenda L. Thomas
This is the first story of the book and starts off with a bang and was also my favorite. Zane herself could of written this story because it was just that erotic.

SEX, SIN AND BROOKLYN by Crystal Lacey Winslow
This story had a lot of "street" in it and put you in the frame of mind of sister souljah (coldest winter)

SUMMER MADNESS by Rochelle Alers
This story was a typical wonderful Ms. Alers romantic storyline.

REBOUND by Reshonda Tate Billingsley
I had never read a book by Ms. Billingsley but after reading this story I'm going to locate some of her work because I just love how she ended this book with drama and romance.

3.0 out of 5 stars A lil something for all, November 8, 2004
This review is from: Four Degrees of Heat: A Collection of Sexy Summer Escapades (Paperback)
This recipe will certainly leave you satisfied, with ingredients such as erotica, freaky, ghetto, romantic & far fetched. Brenda Thomas' "Maxed Out" teacher turned stripper was erotic, risque' and insightful. Crystal Lacey Winslow's "Sex, Sin & Brooklyn" was the most scary, wild, ghettofied, freakiest of them all. Rochelle Alers' "Summer Madness" was a very romantic tale with a breath of fresh air that will remind you that your knight in shining armour may still be out there just waiting to rescue you from always being a bridesmaid and never a bride. ReShonda Tate Billingsley's "Rebound" was a lil far fetched for this to be a strong sista, but still made for a good read. Overall the well mixed collaboration includes something to quinch the thirst of all readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steamy!!!, February 20, 2005
This review is from: Four Degrees of Heat: A Collection of Sexy Summer Escapades (Paperback)
This book will have you looking for a fan. All of the stories were good. Although there were some very steamy sex scenes in the book, each story had a message. I won't go into details because once you read this book you will not be able to put it down, and the messages the stories give will make you think about love, money, and vanity.

I thoroughly loved this book. The stories were a great mix, and truly four degrees. My favorite would be Reshonda's story because it stimulated my mind. I would love to see more of Victoria and Damon! The other stories were also good. Now I see why these ladies are some of the best in the business!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Zane? You're gonna dig this!, July 7, 2005
This review is from: Four Degrees of Heat: A Collection of Sexy Summer Escapades (Paperback)
This book was off the chains. I couldn't put it down. Four degrees of heat from four different perspectives. My favorite was SUMMER MADNESS by Rochelle Alers. My girl Nina was in love with nothing but her books until she caught the bouquet at her best friend's wedding. It was on like popcorn after that. Read the book to find out. Love Zane? You're gonna dig this!

4.0 out of 5 stars Experience among many experiences, October 17, 2006
By
Four Degrees of Heat offers an array of summer escapades that escort our leading ladies off to a challenge.

In Maxed Out, by Brenda L. Thomas, readers are brought to a boil as Maxine Tate, a math teacher for three years, takes up private dancing. Maxie is involved in a relationship and somewhat happy although not often satisfied. Maxie has discovered an untapped lust deep inside of her. While relishing in her new found hobby, Max finds that maybe a little something on the side ain't that bad. But now that her sneaky ways are exposed, can Maxie handle the heat? Brenda is as always one of those writers that has you on the edge. I always enjoy reading her stories.

In Sex, Sin and Brooklyn, by Crystal Lacey Winslow, readers will not be disappointed with the surge that Crystal's quaint characters bring to the book. At twenty, Bed Sty "Do or Die" Brooklyn's own Nicoli Jones' only objective has been paper chasing. Nicoli is impassive, fastidious, and cantankerous. Luckily, she's drop dead gorgeous and that one asset seems to be the power that is needed for her imprudent ways. While partying with the rich and famous, Nicoli finds that she's eye- dancing with Black King, a renaissance man. Has Nicoli hit the jackpot and landed her golden goose or has she been overcooked? Well inquiring minds won't have to wait too much longer, Sex, Sin and Brooklyn II will be released in November.

In Summer Madness, by Rochelle Alers, Nina Watkins unique signature is always a bridesmaid, that and pitiful hookups. As a high school librarian in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn, Nina doesn't fit the norm. She's adventurous, fun loving and despite what others believe, is looking for a mate. They just don't seem to last longer than the three months of her summer vacation. As she finds herself wallowing in misery, her mood changes when she's introduced to David Lancaster, a relative of the groom. Finally Nina's found a man who can spark interest inside of her. As the summer blazes on, the two spend time basking in lust filled rendezvous. Use to the burning of the hands, Nina is containing herself as not to make something into nothing. Is this adventure heated enough for seconds? This is the first time I've read anything by Rochelle. I'm not major on romance, but it was a cute story.

In Rebound, by ReShonda Tate Billingsley, we meet an independent woman with a controlling nature. Victoria has always been the glue that holds it all together, but today, well she needs to be stapled as the steamy contents of her relationship boil over in front of the whole world. Instead of soaking in self pity, Victoria has decided to savor in the money her ex fiancé spent on their honeymoon. Out of sight, doesn't always mean out of mind. While drowning in misery, Victoria is rescued by Damon, a fine D.A. from Dallas who also seems to be seasoned in drama. Can this twosome make a sizzling connection or is this sprinkled with disaster? This is the second thing I've read by ReShonda. It was a very interesting twist.

Four delicious tales spiced and served to your liking. FOUR DEGREES OF HEAT is guaranteed to leave readers salivating for more.
