5.0 out of 5 stars An authentic and deeply moving tale of art and artists, April 6, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Four Figures in Time (Paperback)
This beautiful novel present a fascinating and realistic look at four diverse and distinctly drawn characters, each of whom is driven by a unique and particular relationship to art. As their lives intertwine, the novel's action and momentum build in gratifying and quietly moving ways. I found the author's language to be a potent combination of clear, clean prose with a refreshing, understated lyricism. This story, full of event and meaning, conveys a profound understanding not only of artistic process and of the visions, ambitions, and inner lives of artists, but also of the ways in which most people try to make sense of and see more deeply into the losses, confusions, and even the dailiness of their lives and relationships. I loved this book, and recommend it to anyone who is tired of being bombarded with the loud and the obvious.
