This review is from: Four Men And A Lady (15th Anniversary) (Harlequin Temptation) (Paperback)
the one where they meet 15 yrs later at their class reunion. Most people don't even go to their class reunion these days.
I really had trouble relating to the heroine which makes it hard to go along with the story since we spend much of our time in her thoughts. On and on about her poor childhood to the point that it's kind of annoying. Geez, I got the point that her childhood wasn't easy. I still can't understand this story. A childhood friend offers to pay her way through college when he finds out she needs the help. Why is this so offensive? So many people would jump on this and say bless you thank you so much. I'll pay you back some day. I'll make you proud. Or just I appreciate the offer but no thanks. The way this girl reacts is freakish. Oh and come on, she's a 33 yr old virgin? Totally don't get her.

"A scintillating novel that again proves opposites attract. Like magnets hero and heroine come together in a conflagration that threatens to set the pages of FOUR MEN AND A LADY on fire, blazing with passion and fueled with larger then life characters. A delight to read a story that features relationships based on friendship between four men and a woman. Especially when told in high school day's flashbacks that relate the insecurities, challenges, and doubts of teenagers caught in the vortex of the quantum leap from adolescents to adulthood. Written with empathy and wit, it is obvious that Alison Kent draws on life experiences and relates them in a manner that endears and edifies. Attend the reunion -- be a fly on the wall -- you don't want to miss one minute of the fun and action."

Alison Kent has created five unique, real people you will swear you knew in high school. She gets it all right; from the skillfully done flashbacks, and the completely natural and humorous dialogue between friends, to the emotionally charged passion between Ben and Heidi. FOUR MEN AND A LADY is a romantic masterpiece and a trip down memory lane that will have you laughing and shedding a few tears. Don't miss one of the best books of 1999!!
