5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Story for Everyone!
This is a great story for kids and adults of all ages. Beautifully illustrated and filled with interesting characters complete with colorful names and personalities.

The story is both entertaining and thought provoking, illustrating that we can all be happy with what we already have!!

I thoroughly recommend this book!

1.0 out of 5 stars Brodt's Four Little Old Men Is One Big Slur Against Culture Culture
I found this book to be remarkably offensive. I am not a full Cajun, but have some ancestors who descended from the Acadians. I gained an appreciation for Cajun music and culture when I was in college, especially Cajun folklore and history. The Acadians were a proud and resilient people of great faith and integrity, and their descendants have held fast to many of those...

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny ways of saying things, May 1, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Four Little Old Men: A (Mostly) True Tale from a Small Cajun Town (Hardcover)
I'm four-and-a-half, so my mom reads this book to me (and types my review). I like this book a lot, especially the way the old men say things. 'I'm soaking to my skin, and dat's de truth!' and 'Has a possum got a tail?' are my favorites. My other favorite parts are the purple house, the generator, and grown-ups called Stinky. --Max Wessendorf, 4

Finally! A book with a nice message about really enjoying life (on the levees in Louisiana, by the way). Fantastic illustrations and a fun read. Wish I had had it when I was younger.

Four Little Old Men was a great book. It was the BEST book I ever read. My favorite part was when the dog and cat hid under the house. I think you will enjoy this book too! Tyler AGE 8

I read this book to both of my grandsons and they loved it! The boys enjoyed the funny slang "dere and dat" and unique, colorful culture of the characters with the silly names.

My six year old grandson and I read the book together and we both loved it. We were entertained not only by the story, but also by the wonderful illustrations. We loved the humor and laughed out loud together. I would recommend this book for all ages!

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful Book, July 29, 2006
This review is from: Four Little Old Men: A (Mostly) True Tale from a Small Cajun Town (Hardcover)
I have given this book to 4 of my grandchildren and they all have a different response and each response is extremely positive. One said it's the best book he ever read. I am glad there are books such as this available for children (and adults)

instead of some of the violence that's available today.

I'd love to review this excellent book, but since I am the author thereof I would undoubtedly be accused of prejudice. All I can say is: read it and make your own decision. Or better yet, let your kids read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Four Little Old Men, August 1, 2006
This review is from: Four Little Old Men: A (Mostly) True Tale from a Small Cajun Town (Hardcover)
I have read this book to 5 of my 6 grandchildren, from age 6 to 13 and they all loved it. They laughed through out the story. They have taken turns reading it to each other. The illustrations are also very funny. I have rated it 5 stars because the children it was written for have given it a thumbs up and I thought it was funny too.
