5.0 out of 5 stars Real Wisdom!
A failed marriage and a bumpy entry into on-line dating left me open to the idea that picking good men and developing strong, healthy relationships was not, perhaps, my strongest suit. 3.0 out of 5 stars food for thought
I have never believed in exclusive dating - it wastes so much time! But I always thought that, though you needed to let your dates know you're not exclusive, you shouldn't really let them know about each other. This book says that men love to compete - that gave me a whole new level of looking at things. The book is funny, dirty, and as a Christian, I can't go along with...

A failed marriage and a bumpy entry into on-line dating left me open to the idea that picking good men and developing strong, healthy relationships was not, perhaps, my strongest suit. I stumbled onto this book and it's the oddest darn thing--I found wisdom, insight and understanding in a self-help book about dating. I mean, compassionate, funny, smart and truly helpful wisdom! From The Wait for Sex Index to The Breakup Ladder, Cindy Lu offered tools that changed my approach to dating. I'm much happier and guess what: the men I'm dating are so much nicer!

5.0 out of 5 stars Life changing book!, September 14, 2007

This review is from: The Four Man Plan: A Romantic Science (Hardcover)
I'm sure I've read as many dating advice books as your typical thirty-something female, but this one hit me differently from the beginning.

First of all, it's funny! The bottom line in The Plan is to have fun - which was the missing element in my dating life when I read this. Dating had become a drag and this lightened it up for me. Plus, there's a really fun online forum where Cindy Lu gives further support.

Second of all, it's logical! Cindy Lu puts it all together in a straightforward manner, and after reading it I couldn't NOT follow her advice.

Third of all, it's a quick read! I devoured it completely the first night I got it - and so have my girlfriends. I could hardly wait til morning to try it out.

Lastly, IT WORKS! After following Cindy's advice for a while, I met someone who fits perfectly with me. He's generous and loving and takes care of me - and now I can receive it like never before.

This book changed my life - I hope it changes yours too!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it now, thank me later, January 14, 2008
This review is from: The Four Man Plan: A Romantic Science (Hardcover)
This book hit the mark with me. I picked it up by complete chance, and it made so much sense. It is funny and entertaining, but when I put it into practice is when the real fun began.

To those who think the book encourages disrespect to oneself or another, I have to disagree. Yes, it's tongue in cheek. It's real. It addresses how women talk to each other and act around guys. The heart of the book though is (to me, and to many others who have put it to use) all about respect. It's not about finding a husband. By re-learning a new way to interact with people I found a greater capacity for understanding, practiced unflinching honesty, became less judgemental, and was humbled by the people I met and had the joy of interacting with. Did I marry every one? No! But each one taught me something about the world and something about myself.

If you push yourself to read it and be brave and try it out, you'll realize it's about more than just dating (though that's quite fun). It's about cultivating respect for yourself, your boundaries, your time, your heart, and for the people around you and the roles that they fill in your life. Give it a shot. Buy it for yourself, or for a friend who desperately sucks at love!

4.0 out of 5 stars Suck at Love No More!, September 26, 2007

This review is from: The Four Man Plan: A Romantic Science (Hardcover)
Well. Cindy Lu is witty and uses a conversational tone as she unveils her mathematical process to locating a man that doesn't complete you -- but lets you be 100% you while you accept him for being 100% him.

Admittedly, I've known all along that finding a good man is a numbers game -- probably due to my ingrained sales background. Lu takes it a step further and lays out a number of "rules" to get you from dating to hitched (if that's what you want).

The charm of her process is that by living the plan, you're learning to be the person you really admire. The one that you most want to fight for and the one who doesn't need to settle. Pretty brilliant.

Now, there are few postulates and rules that I can't seem to wrap my non-scientific brain around, but I'm accepting myself for those shortcomings and enjoying the process.

Thanks to Lu, I have a new found appreciation for why I won't and don't have to "settle" as well as why I've been caught in the continuous loop of wrong men for more than 15 years!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Four Man Plan ROCKS!, November 19, 2007

This review is from: The Four Man Plan: A Romantic Science (Hardcover)
I bought the Four Man Plan on a lark, figuring it would be worth it for the entertainment value, but not expecting much more than a few laughs. Much to my surprise, the book (and the online Forum) have been tremendous tools for self-growth! I would go so far as to say life-changing. I HIGHLY recommend this book for any and all single women out there! (FYI, I just told my older brother about it today, and he thought the principles and postulates outlined in the book were RIGHT ON! :-)) I am actually enjoying dating for the first time EVER, and am (in the words of author Cindy Lu) rapidly learning how to "unsuck" at love!

This book says that men love to compete - that gave me a whole new level of looking at things. The book is funny, dirty, and as a Christian, I can't go along with her chart, although she does give you a way to "adjust" the chart for different morals. I highly recommend Herny Cloud's "How to Get a Date Worth Keeping," whether or not you're religious, as it gives a lot more detail on how to make all this really work - dating multiple people at the same time.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm just spreading the 4MP gospel!, July 1, 2008

What can I say? Not only is the book freaking hilarious to read (I think I laughed so hard I nearly cried), but it's obvious from the get-go that the advice is dead on. Coming out of a very long term relationship I was completely clueless on how to date, even though I'm in my late 20's. I live in a big city, so it wouldn't be hard to find dates, but I knew I was looking for more than just random flings and hook-ups. I was looking for a real partner I could share my life with. But how to find that man? What exactly should I even be looking for? This book has a lot of answers. Harkening back to the 1950's style of dating (which women 70+ tell me is the only way to date and find a good man), you let the men compete for you. Instead of throwing yourself onto a guy and freaking him out, or having him be "just not that into you" yet you completely over-fixate on him (we all do it!), you just follow the Plan, be the amazing woman you are, and let them come to you. Believe me ladies, it will happen! My girlfriends were all so amazed that not only did I not have any problem finding dates, I was having so much fun at it! And within 4 months I found a great man who I am now dating exclusively. For those of you who want more interactivity, check out the website and forum ([...]), where the author and other Four Man Planners will share their experience and advice. A must-read for anyone who is tired of meeting (or falling for) Mr. Wrong or Mr. Right-now. Don't settle for anything less than you deserve! Thanks, Cindy Lu!

5.0 out of 5 stars The ONLY dating book that makes sense, November 4, 2011
This book will open up your mind, will get you to know yourself the way you NEVER did before! You will get to know yourself, your heart and your honesty.
This is uber-fun AND super clean. Yes, it might sound a bit weird to date 4 men at the same time and tell them that... yes, a bit strange... However, this is when you step up for honesty, for love, for truth.
With this book you will discover than men are beautiful, sweet, loving, willing and actually very honest. You will allow yourself to date quality men and have fun doing it.

As a Life Coach that teaches people how to open up and relax, this is by far, the most practical book on dating process - for women!
Although this book is not a relationship book, it is about dating process. It will also help you became softer, kinder and more sincere person with clear boundaries so that your relationships improve as well.

Before you buy it, Google the author Cindy Lu on YouTube and watch her stand up routine. You will get the taste of her. Sincere, fun, clean and filthy-mouth will make you laugh and feel confident.

I also got audio book and laugh with it on the way.... to my dates... plenty of them...:-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Plan For Both Women and Men!, September 29, 2011
What I love about this book, is that the plan innately puts women in the drivers seat. We no longer have to be flowers waiting for someone to come and pluck us. We get our power back.

I love that the plan can be used in all stages of life. I love that the concepts naturally puts women at ease with themselves which allows the law of attraction to work automatically. It allows women to have fun dating and not be concerned about being picked for the team.

This is a great book for all men and women as it balances the energies and allows for the meaningful incubation time it takes for a relationship to grow. We no longer have to wait around or loose out on a social life. We get to be in or power and have fun while knowing the right man will find you.

I highly recommend the book on all levels, and for men as well. They need to know they are in a competition and with confidence we know you will step up to the plate. When women rise, the men will follow.

This couldn't have come at a better time, and its an awesome book! I'm 53 and just starting to date now that my children are in college. I have been on two dates in a week and its refreshing to have her mentality of "I'm in no hurry, I'm having fun, and I'm not settling this time. I am worthy of a good man this time around." I immediately gave a copy to my 20 yr old dtr so she doesn't make the same mistakes I did. My sister and best friend (both single) LOVE this book too! Very easy read, very funny, and oh so true! If u are single and looking for love, you need this book, quick before you mess up again! Thank you thank you Cindy Lu!
