Using biblical prophecy as his criterion, Ramsay identifies these four individuals as modern prophets whose visions of social justice are important for members of the "complacent and privileged classes" who want to take their Christian faith seriously. He presents the life context, basic message, and contemporary relevance of each prophet in simple, nontechnical language, presenting his points with accuracy and balance. For the most part, Ramsay lets the prophets speak for themselves, though he doesn't hesitate to raise his own critical questions. With its study aids and general bibliography after each chapter, this little book will make an ideal tool for church or classroom discussion groups exploring the radical social message of the gospel.
